    Yes the so called foundation. Way too much expectations was placed on little Anthony to start with. Then you go to Crochet whom i questioned all offseason if his first time heavy workload from last year would affect him this year. It did. Story, Mayer DUBin, and Duran all got off to less than stellar start to be kind, which has also led to a not so stellar record to be kind also. Con Man, and Gray have been great, and Ranger has had some good moments, but not enough to offset the holdovers from last year.

    I don’t see the Red Sox picking up that contract for Adames anyways.

    Is Mayer still a platoon player? Huh? He’s still not only a platoon player, but gets pinch hit for when he starts against a RHP, and a LHP comes in.🤭

    I’m fine with sticking with, and counting on the Con Man for 2027. Who’s his replacement if he left?. It’s taken the Red Sox a few years now, and many tryouts to get someone the caliber of the Con Man as it is to play 1B. Even if he falls off some he’s fine for now.

    Either way it goes nothing is stopping him from resigning with the Red Sox. If you trade him you have to replace him, which isn’t so easy to do. The Red Sox lucked out with Chapman who wasn’t signed to be the closer in the first place, and nothing more than a BP piece.

    Well he didn’t walk after last year, so I see no evidence he would do it after this year. Pure speculation either way at best.

    That’s the way the contract reads. Pretty straightforward.

    To much worrying about this, and worrying about that. He did get 20 million this year after the year he had last year, so it’s far from a certainty he would get that next year.

    Either way he can still sign back with Boston if he wants too. The Yankees traded him one year, and signed him back the next. That could happen too.

    I not assuming either way, and there is still games to be played this year before a decision has to be made on trading him, or not.

    He was a free agent after last year. Also I’m fully aware of his contract, but like I said he was a FA last offseason, and signed back with Boston.

    Why would you assume the Red Sox would lose Chapman at all. Did they lose him this past offseason?🤔

    I agree, and there is still a lot of games to be played, and time before the Red Sox have to make that decision. Either way he’s at least a keeper though 2027, and if traded he’d have to be replaced as will anyone like Chapman if traded.

    NOBODY said anything about giving Bogey the contract that SD ended up giving him. I’ve said all along that DD should have given Bogey a better contract way back when, which would would have been 6 years without the opt outs, and that contract would have been up by now. The Red Sox were always a day late, and a dollar short all the way through with Mookie too, and if had acted sooner way back when it wouldn’t have been anywhere near the contract the Dodgers ended up giving him.

    Yes he’s been hitting the ball better in June, and had 2HR in one game. All good.👏
