  1. Obviously it makes you feel better to call it a cliff well so be it, but I’m not going to. Last Cliff I knew was Huxtable.😉😉
  2. Well said. There was NO cliff.
  3. Depends on how many years it takes to sign Bichette. You may be paying for years of decline for both. I don’t think the Red Sox want any long term contracts for any of these guys, and I think the years piece might be holding up the Bregman situation.
  4. I agree on both. 5 more years plus a player option to age 37 for Marte would be a surprise if the Red Sox made the trade.
  5. Nobody knows what will happen until the games are played on the field. You could bring back the exact same lineup, and most likely you wouldn’t get the same results. I know the object is to make the Red Sox look better at least on paper, and there is still a long way to go until opening day. Even ST for that matter where good, and bad things can happen, and most likely will.
  6. That’s one way to look at it. Why would you take a risk on someone like Alonso just because he’s averaged 158 Games played, 39 HR, and 111 RBI the last 5 years, but isn’t a Slick Dick at 1B.🤔
  7. I think if a vote was taken out in RSN fans would be careful what they wished for, and vote for a new owner.
  8. They signed all those extensions, but they might just look at it as a cheaper way to go, which it is until their contracts come up again. Even Crochet was cheaper than if he would have it the open market. I think they would rather fill in from within, and trade for contracts that don’t have many years left on them than sign any long term expensive FA not named Bregman, and even that one will be like pulling teeth.
  9. Yes just getting to 500 in 2024 was an improvement.
  10. I’ve already said it wasn’t a mutual agreement, and it could have been a three year deal for the PLAYER. Bregman has opted-out just like I think most thought he would.
  11. I agree on Bloom, or trade Sale either.
  12. I believe last year was the problem, and there were some different things going on.
  13. Raffy was not a good 3B no doubt, but I believe if Cora had his way Raffy still would have been the 3B.
  14. That’s what Suspects are good for. Producing in a Red Sox uniform, or traded for someone who does. The White Sox paid a heavy price too. A good well worth it trade for both sides.
  15. I get on paper it could have been a 3 year deal for the player, but outside of something drastic happening like being injured he was only staying for 1 year, and then go shopping again, or negotiate an even longer deal from the Red Sox. It really wasn’t too complicated . If he can get $160M good for him, but I hope it isn’t from Boston.
  16. It was always going to be just a 1 year contract, and that’s what makes the Raffy fiasco even worse IMO.
  17. At this point I don’t know if he is any further along than he was a year ago.
  18. When you listen to Breslow talk he doesn’t sound to confident, or any urgency in what he is doing.
  19. KC is an example of not everyone should, or can play multiple positions. The Red Sox messed him up big time last year IMO trying to make him do that, because that’s how things are so called done these days, and now he has to catch up, and develop hopefully at just 1 position.
  20. Yes control is, and was a big difference for Chapman last year.
  21. Either way I think Cora can handle him.
  22. As the Red Sox showed only offering Alonso 3 years I think the Red Sox want Bregman, but are trying to get as short of a deal as they can.
  23. Didn’t Marte also have some issues last year of wanting to be on the field? His teammates were frustrated with the number of days off requests.
  24. I’ve spoken about the bad injury Ju Ju the past few years, so I’ll start there. I’m not counting on Story to stay healthy, or Mayer either for that matter. Chapman had a career year last year after bouncing around the league, and hadn’t been a FT closer for a number of years, so I’m not counting on him to be great again this year. Cro Man had the most innings pitched by a wide margin in his short career last year, so it will be something to see if it has any side effects this year. The bad injury Ju Ju is real.
