  1. If it was 1 year left it would be easier to cut. The Red Sox did pay Atlanta $17M to get $10M relief on Sale, so we’ll see. I think right now the Red Sox are waiting to find out what happens with Bregman, and then go from there there, and if they have to trade for an IF.
  2. Certainly not worth $18M, and never was, but unfortunately gets paid that for the next 2 years.
  3. I know Masa gets dumped on a lot, and he’s overpaid, and only useful as a DH, but he can hit some.
  4. I get all that, but what do you do with 4 outfielders with 3 of them LHB. Supposedly Abreu is going to get more AB against LHP, so we’ll see how that goes. I know rotating through DH as an option, but Masa is still around, and possibly Casas at some point.
  5. I think on here too it’s the speculation that the Red Sox have to trade an OF, because of the roster construction thing.
  6. I thought the original idea for trading Duran last trade deadline, and this year was for starting pitching, or for Martel, which I could see, but I don’t think trading him for CBT relief is even being discussed by the Red Sox unlike on here.
  7. Agree 100% on Breggie. Breggie has been the chosen one if the contract offer out there is true.
  8. As I said many times before Brez was the 12th pick in the HOBO draft.
  9. How about packaging Masa, Hicks, and Sandoval that’s always a suggested proposition?🤓
  10. Good points here. The Red Sox used to be one of the big boys, but now the boys are bigger, and there are more of them.
  11. No I don’t think the age matters much, or if all. The guys you mentioned were better pitchers than Sandoval. You keep saying he’s proven he can pitch very well for long stretches, and I just don’t see that at all. Very nice numbers?🤭
  12. To me he’s just another of these special projects the Red Sox like to pay a pitcher to rehab for a year, and hopefully get something out of him the next year $18M, or not. From what I can see he’s been nothing, but a career loser, and not just in a small way. I’m not expecting much to nothing at all from him.
  13. McAdams asked Brez if it was the Red Sox philosophy to make trades instead of signing FA, and Brez kind of said it was without saying it something about not limiting options.
  14. I’m just saying what gets talked about the most. I guess also it depends on what cheap means to each one. It sounds like different things just on here.
  15. Out on the street, airways, and media it’s not the 4 WS that the Red Sox have won under JH, but the losing-last place teams especially since 2013 that gets talked about more justified, or not.
  16. Having the highest ticket prices, and payroll to revenue to gets mentioned a lot too. Of course being first in 2018-2019 would not be first today either.
  17. I can’t believe his 1000 word column didn’t convince you. YOU are right about being all over the place, but remember again he’s not defending, or apologizing for JH. Seems I heard the word SHAM coming from one poster more than once on here though. 🤫
  18. If the Red Sox had a dollar for every time you said you’re not defending, or apologizing for JH, or Bloom back in the day they would have enough money by now to have afforded both Flintstone, and Alonso.🤭
  19. As I said the other day for the next two years some fans will compare the Con Man’s stats to Alonso’s stats, and if Breggie resigns they will compare Breggie’s stats to Raffy’s stats.
  20. I was talking about BTV values, and not money in the REAL world of baseball, and the swapping of bad contracts for bad contracts. Trying to keep trying to swap Hicks, and Masa on BTV is easy, but not so much in real baseball.
  21. I’ll believe it when I actually see it happen, and NOT until then.
