  1. If the Red Sox hadn’t signed Gio I would agree, but signing Gio for $18M did not save any money, and still paying $17M for Sale is $35M for the two of them. Now if JH said $45M was too much to keep Sale too, but $35M was OK that’s on him, but I doubt this at all. This was a Brez deal to me. Either way JH is shelling out $35M, and that’s not saving any money. Remember Brez was the 12th pick in the 2024 HOBO draft, and hasn’t proven anything to this point.
  2. Chris Sale finished up the pre AS break part of the season on a winning note raising his record to 13-3, which is the Most wins in MLB for ones who count such things, and the rest of the stats aren’t bad either. 110 IP pitched, 81 hits allowed, and 140 K’s. The Braves are reaping the benefits of this not to mention that the Red Sox are footing the entire bill for this year, and all the Braves have to do is kick back, and watch. What a deal!
  3. The Dodgers haven’t been playing that good of ball 3-8 of their last 11. Mookie is still out, and they are missing a good part of their starting rotation on the IL. The schedule will get tougher though through the end of August. Looking good on July 14th, but Sept 1 will be the real telltale on where they are, and how good they are.
  4. Unlike you who cried Sham, sham, sham all offseason.
  5. BIG Baby Bello has been knocked around all afternoon. Luckily only 3 runs so far.
  6. The future is now on July 14 2024, and what happens the rest of July, Aug, and Sept, and hopefully what happens in October 2024. Nobody knows what will happen in 2025, and beyond, and things don’t usually carry over from one year to another. 2018 certainly didn’t carry over into 2019 by far. Houck, and Kut Man have pitched real well this year, but that doesn’t mean they will pitch that well next year, so take advantage of what you got now, and make this team better NOW. I don’t care what number prospects ranking is given up, or if any current players will lose playing time if someone is added . Like I’ve said many times if you’re not playing to win then don’t play at all. Play to win now.
  7. As usual stretching out the truth as far as it can go. I don’t know of ANYONE who has said they think wins, and loses are the be all end all, it you keep spewing the same garbage that they do to fit your gotcha narrative. Now I have said I look at the W-L of a pitcher first, but then got through all the different categories. This is why ii keep saying pay NO attention to the man behind the curtain. It’s a phony.
  8. They need both, but the back end of the BP has thinned out the last few weeks too.
  9. You don’t know how much you’ll get, or can count on Martin.
  10. Might return isn’t good enough. The Red Sox need Jansen Now. Of course they need at least one more solid starter also.
  11. Pissing off Cora is nowhere near as important as pissing off Raffy, and the rest of the players in that clubhouse.
  12. Good point on Grissom.
  13. Especially after Whit went down. Bad luck it is, and a twist of fate that after a change of scenery Sale is healthy, and Gio, and Grissom is not.
  14. Also in the meantime JH is shelling out $35M. I’m sure he’s not laughing all the way to the bank like the Braves are. Wait the Braves don’t have to go to the bank this year to pay Sale. Grissom is irrelevant at this point OFF, and on the field.
  15. Outside of Raffy the rest of the IF is patch work on a daily basis that doesn’t show up as much when they are winning. Lose a couple games, because of it, and it will be a different story.
  16. Criswell will start tonight. The Wing Man has been sent back down.
  17. I think most are still in the I’ll believe it when I see it camp despite the Sam Speak, and the Breslow jargon, and his I’ll pick a lane statement.
  18. 2 would be great, but even settling for 1 may be a big ask.
  19. The fact that this question has to be even asked is pretty ridiculous IMO. The Red Sox on July 12 are in a pennant race still early, or not, and are facing a team they are fighting for a postseason spot with. If Criswell comes up someone will have to be sent down. BIG deal! Wink got sent down to get stretched out as a starter, and he comes back up, and gets 1 start. I like Wink in the BP anyway, but WTF?
  20. Quite a transformation the Butterfly Man has made the last two years.
  21. I don’t see Mayer getting traded anytime soon. He’s been the chosen one since he was drafted. Story Land’s contract is for 3 more years healthy, or not. I know there is lots of worry on here about who gets traded, loses playing time, or sent back down, but like I’ve said many times that things tend to work themselves out. It sounds good that Mayer, Story, Grissom, and DHam would all be healthy, and playing good at the same time, and on the team. If that happens at some point it would be a good problem to have, but then again things tend to work themselves out.
  22. So far so good. Schedule gets tougher from here starting tonight with not playing many losing teams through the end of August. One team coming on fast that the Red Sox has lots of games with is Houston.
  23. Casas was 1-15 in March this year, and got better as April went along, and that was after a spring training. He hasn’t played since April, and when he’s healthy enough to play he’ll need some rehab. If he comes back, and they get some production out of him great, but I’m not counting on it.
  24. Let’s not worry about Ref Man. Things usually work themselves out, and that bridge will be crossed if they get there.
