  1. It would except for the FACT there are many options for the OF to keep Yoshida from playing out there compared to Franchy playing 1B as the RED Sox didn’t see any other option at the time. Arroyo tried, but got hurt the first time he tried to stretch. I thinks there is a snow ball’s chance in hell that Yoshida is part of any OF platoon.🙈🤭
  2. Agree on both. Just like with Bello. I don’t think they signed him to that contract to be the so called 5th, or 6th starter as I’ve heard suggested on here.
  3. Agree, and I just think a contract a team signs a player to gives you an idea of what the plans are for that player, and that is why I said I don’t think the plans are for the RAF Man was to. be a platoon player. Of course circumstances could change that plan.
  4. Up to this point I don’t think the Red Sox are as concerned about what everyone knows that the D isn’t good to do anything about it. In fact with the likes of Franchy Strangeglove at 1B, Arroyo in RF, and Kike staying at SS a lot longer than he should have it looks like the opposite of trying to fix the D. When is the last time the Red Sox had a good veteran glove man ready as a backup for the IF?
  5. Jim Bowden is reporting Roki already had a pre-cut deal with the Dodgers before the dog, and pony show started with other teams.🤫
  6. That’s because I don’t think there is ANY plan by Cora to do a platoon in LF of Yoshida/Ref Man. Nor do I think the Red Sox signed the RAF Man to the contract they did to be a platoon player either. Neither would Duran play CF over Raf Man.🙈🤭
  7. Roki signs as an Amateur FA. $6.5M signing bonus.
  8. Fuller, Hendricks, and Whit all coming off injuries makes it more than unknown what you will get from any of them, so counting on them to be their former selves does not sound like a good plan to me. Unless, or if a closer, and 8th inning guy is established Jansen, and Martin may be a bigger loss than some think. Quantity does not always mean quality.
  9. Things must be looking up compared to last year at this time. Last year all off season the town crier was running from town to town shouting, sham, sham, sham. Lot quieter this year.🤫
  10. Plenty of depth. Just not good depth.
  11. Sale had to leave to get away from the bad injury juju that has enveloped Boston the past few years.
  12. Maybe with Monopoly money.
  13. Understood. Like I said I wear the cheapskate hat proudly.
  14. I’m not arguing at all that Japanese baseball compares to MLB. I’m just saying what he did in Japan counts. If it didn’t there would be Nothing to go on. If Yam Man didn’t have the stats as good that he did in Japan do think he would have. gotten as big a payday? Same with Masa.
  15. I’ve NEVER said MLB innings shouldn’t count more than the innings in Japan. My main point all along has been Cro Man doesn’t have a big enough resume to ME to warrant the contract at this STAGE as you think he should get. That’s all. Nothing more, or nothing less. Just like I told Moon I’m not saying I’m right, and you’re wrong. We just DISAGREE. You’ve already called me a cheapskate, and I’ll wear that hat proudly. By the way Cro Man has only pitched a total of 363 innings going back to his college days.
  16. Yes the Yam Man was special, because of his age, and also because of what he had done in those 897 innings in Japanese baseball. You don’t think what he did in those 897 innings along with his age was why teams were lining up with their checkbooks? What did the Red Sox go on when they signed Masa? Dice K?
  17. I didn’t even know that was questioned, or even talked about. Come on man!🙈🤭
  18. Do you think you should treat a players Arb years the same as FA years?
  19. You don’t think what a Japanese player does in Japan goes a long way in how MLB teams scout, and Judge players, and then determine what they will offer these players to come to the states? You don’t think with throwing ZERO innings in MLB the 897 innings Yam Man threw in Japan wasn’t what had all those MLB teams lining up to offer him all those big contracts. You don’t think what Masa did in Japan with ZERO AB in MLB didn’t influence Bloom, and his minions so much that they outbid everyone, and shut down the bidding in record time? Come on man!
  20. It’s a dice roll on every pitcher, but once again 897 innings is a lot more to go on then 219, and that’s all I’m saying, and 219 innings to me is not enough on how to judge how good a pitcher is going to be. I get everything you’re saying, and why, and I’m not even saying you are wrong. How you want to judge something, and how I judge something are two different ways, which lead to different opinions, and I’m not even claiming I’m right. It’s just a different opinion, which I’m not going to change, and, you’re not going to change, and that’s where I’m going to leave it
  21. Of course not what a pitcher does in college, or the minors, but definitely yes what one does in Japan. Do you really think the Yam Man would have gotten what he did for a contract if his 897 innings he pitched wasn’t counted??? Arb years, and FA has NOTHING to do with it with me. Lack of much of a resume does. I guess I’m not as star struck as you, and others are either with the Cro Man, or the suspects you claim was giving up the world.
  22. But there NO one with only 219 innings pitched, and only 136 as a starter, which has been the MAIN point all along. Yam Man had 897 innings under his belt, which is a lot more innings to get judged by.
  23. FACT is there was no one with that so few amount of innings under his belt.
