  1. Like I’ve always said the goal each season should be to win as many games you can , and to make it into the postseason. If not then why play at all?
  2. Only time will tell. I don’t have much confidence in Brez anyway, but I’m giving him a chance to prove me wrong, and I hope he does.
  3. Wow! All these super fans quitting, and throwing up the white flag already. I said all offseason to wait, and see what the club looked like on Mar 28, and go from there, and I’m waiting now to see what the club looks like ton Sept 1. They may crash, and burn like they have the past two seasons, but they haven’t gotten to that point yet on July 23, and 1 game back in the loss column from making the postseason.
  4. Poor, poor Brez. He should feel lucky he has the job he has, and that’s ONLY, because so many refused to even interview for the job in the first place.
  5. No doubt they need help, but like I said there are no juggernauts in the standings ahead of them.
  6. What do you tell the players in the Red Sox clubhouse who aren’t quitting?
  7. Exactly. I don’t think the players are going to quit like some of the posters on here are doing on JULY 23.
  8. It didn’t save any money it cost more money, and it didn’t add any depth to the starting rotation. Those are facts. An F for the trade right now, but that could go up some down the road. Then again it may not.
  9. Is Rich Hill still hanging around by a phone?
  10. As usual what looks good on paper to you doesn’t look good to the powers at be of the Boston Red Sox.🤭🙈
  11. Most bought into the full throttle comment, and it sounds like most have bought into the Brez jargon too. Actions speak louder than words, and that’s what I’m waiting to see on what Brez is going to do. All the Brez speak the last month, or so does not bring any great anticipation to me.
  12. No it’s just your wild imagination.
  13. Awesome, or Underdogs?
  14. Good news/bad news. It’s only July 23, and 63 games left to go. The postseason isn’t starting tomorrow just like it wasn’t starting before the AllStar break. Only 4 games behind the Yankees in the loss column, and 2 games behind the Twins in the loss column, and only 1 game behind KC in the loss column, and none of those teams are any juggernauts anyway. It’s a very bad misconception on here that the team has to be good to make a big move, and I never believe that is true. You don’t have to make a move just to make the team better this year. On the other hand the schedule is going to get a lot tougher to the end of the season, and the smoke, and mirrors of a patchwork IF that been that way for months now, and the over achieving, and now over worked pitching staff can’t keep up anymore. Injuries have really taken its toll on the backend of the BP, and 3 of these last losses could have gone in the win column, and the sky, which appears to be falling now wouldn’t appear that way.
  15. Yes, we agree Brez is to blame for everything.
  16. The Full Throttle statement was only a sham if you bought into it like you, and many others did.
  17. What, and how the BP looked a month ago doesn’t matter now. BP even IF good can wear out from over use, and I don’t think this BP was as good as it looked early on just as the starting rotation isn’t either.
  18. So true it is. 2019 an 84 win season was deemed a big failure, but today an 84 win season would be deemed a big success. Of course all the sham, sham, sham talk ALL offseason has lowered those expectations for some on here, and now those same ones it doesn’t take much to impress. There is nothing wrong with having fun, and doing a Cyndi Lauper impression. Some live game by game, and even pitch to pitch, which shows up big time on the game threads. I look at the standings every day, but I don’t put to much importance on them until Sept 1. Every game counts the same from Mar-Apr to Sept-Oct every year, and the things that counts the most is the final standings, which to me is when the final judgement come in,and not on 22 Jul.
  19. A real bad start to the 2nd part of the season. Yes the Dodgers are a good club, but the Red Sox couldn’t have faced them at a better time. Mookie was out, and they didn’t have to face the Yam Man, or Glasnow either. They had a lead late in two of the games, and the BP couldn’t hold the lead. Now the Red Sox head to Colorado a bad team but the Red Sox will have NO closer, or much of a back end of the BP at all, and then things get tougher from there. Sounds like fun to me.
  20. Roberts is trying to give the Red Sox this game.
  21. Cora has some explaining to do after the game on Kenley. 25 pitches last night, and 20 tonight. The new, and expensive mop up man.
  22. Looks like Cora is throwing in the towel now.
  23. Kenley in the game down 6-3 after throwing 25 pitches last night? Think Cora is sending a message to Brez that they need help?
  24. He needed the rest, but definitely didn’t bring his A game. More like his HR Derby game.
