  1. I know he did, but I had mentioned earlier that to me JT would have better pickup for a RHB than Jansen, and that’s what I was commenting on.
  2. He hasn’t had that good a year this year as last year, but coming back to Fenway for a couple of months in a postseason race might have rejuvenated him.
  3. A better pickup than Jansen IMO.
  4. Dodgers get Kopech.
  5. Fedde to the Cardinals.
  6. Another arm, and a young arm, but he hasn’t shown much so far.
  7. Nailed it. I wonder how Brez explained the Sale trade to JH, or Sam who then explained it to JH? Knowing that Gio’s contract would be added too.
  8. Yes I’ve believed all along, and still do that $17M is a big deal. It didn’t save any money unless you want to say they used the $10M to help pay Gio, so instead of $18M it’s really only $8M, but then again your still paying that $17M for Sale to play for someone else, and the fact that he’s pitching so good makes it even look worse. I’m sure JH isn’t to thrilled how this has all worked out.
  9. Ah one of your favorite words on here BASHED. Bloom got bashed, Brez got bashed, Raffy got bashed, O’Neil got bashed, Abreu got bashed, and on, and on it goes. And that’s only what you hear on here. Imagine if you got out, and about you’d have a hard time keeping up defending everyone as the self appointed Red Sox Watch Dog.
  10. It hasn’t been beaten to death the Brez is an idiot, and saying so is putting a long stretch on things.
  11. I agree with most, but adding 4 solid pitches would help, but the big question is how much. I’m thinking though that just adding 1 solid pitcher, and especially more than that would be asking to much.
  12. It’s already taken to long, and Kenley isn’t to reliable at the moment either.
  13. Last year it was the starters going down, and No replacements were added, and the team went with openers after openers for a long stretch, which turned out disastrous. This year the Red Sox knew they were in trouble at the AS break, and knew it was even going to get worse in Colorado without a closer in the BP, and NOTHING was done, and the results were 4 blown games late by the BP. Even if something is done big now to help the BP you won’t get those 4 losses back, and those 4 losses as all losses do could be the difference at the end of making the postseason, or not'
  14. The Red Sox had the Yankees teetering on the ropes after Friday’s game, but let them off the hook Saturday, and now I believe the Yankees are in a lot better shape going forward than the Red Sox. Big Mo swung hard this weekend.
  15. The trade deadline is 6 PM on Tuesday.
  16. Paxton is taking Criswell’s spot in the rotation, and no sight of Criswell in the projected starting rotation going into the Texas series. Pivetta is not going to the BP.
  17. As as time ticks away the losses pile up. Brez is in the slow lane.
  18. And I’ll repeat for the 100th time in a lot less words. If you are not going to play, and win then DON’T play at all.
  19. I’m not waiting for the ponds to freeze, or to pick apples, but I don’t worry about the standings in July. I look at them everyday, but I’ll wait until Sept 1 to do any hard scoreboard watching. I’m very well aware the the Trade deadline is two days away, but the BP needed help before their last road trip started with Slaten, Martin out, and Jansen missing the Colorado series, and the Red Sox did nothing, but watch 4 games slip away late, because the BP couldn’t close out the games. Those losses you won’t get back either.
  20. And it only would have cost $10M to do it.
  21. I’m thinking the Braves came to the Red Sox on this, and not the other way around as there were rumors the Braves were interested in Sale last season as well. I don’t think Bloom would have made this deal, but Brez jumped at it, and signed Gio as well.
  22. I don’t think it was a question of thought but it was just all they were will to do, which still puzzles me, because it ended up costing them more money.
  23. I All I care about is right now, and right now Bailey is running a marathon out to the mound just like Bush did, and when he leaves things get even worse than before he went out there just like when he went out to the mound in Colorado the other day down 15-3, and Colorado added 5 more runs to the scoreboard.
  24. It seems like the Miracle Man that everyone has been raving about since the season started Magic act has run out of magic. Every time he comes out to the mound now, which is often things get worse after he leaves. His Magic certainly hasn’t made Big Baby Bello a better pitcher, and Pivetta is still the same good, and Bad Pivetta. I think Wink has been messed up, and not the same pitcher as last year. Houck has been real good this year, but maybe he just figured it out, got more consistent, and in the process got better. Either way as good as the pitching was early in the season it’s just as bad, or worse today, so maybe they need a new act.
