  1. If the report was true that Texas offered to trade for Sale, and take on his whole contract, and Atlanta was interested in Sale last year too, and neither happened I don’t know what would lead anyone to believe Bloom would have done it this year.
  2. Not so sure about this. Dugy, and Bloom had a meeting out on the field after a game last year before he was fired, and the report was Dugy didn’t appear to happy with what Bloom was telling him.
  3. I hate to admit it too, but I agree that the 2024 Red Sox would have been better under Bloom just, because Sale would still be here. Even if Bloom did his usual at the trade deadline none of Brez’s pickups have done anything anyway.
  4. If Bloom was still here Sale would still be here IMO.
  5. Making sense at the time does not change the outcome now. The old woulda, shoulda, coulda. I know what I said at the time of the trade, but once again that doesn’t change the outcome of the trade, and that’s what matters most IMO.
  6. No matter how you want to look at it on the Braves part whether it was a hunch, a guess, an opinion, or just no worry at all the Braves came out on top, and Brez, and the Red Sox drew the short straw, and are coming out as BIG losers in all this.
  7. You’re possibly right about how the Red Sox felt about Sale being a very high risk for more missed time, but on the other hand I don’t believe Atlanta thought he was ANY risk at all. Brez, and the Red Sox were wrong, and the Braves were right, and the Braves are reaping the rewards, because of it. Speaking of awards how does Chris Cy Young Sale sound?
  8. 100% agree. 👍👍👍
  9. Oh no! Who is Cora going to now in those tough situations? Hill was his go to man.🤭🙈
  10. That’s why I said IMO, but everything that you keep repeating is 100% speculation on your part. Like I said when Sale got traded that all he needed was to get out of Boston, and he would have a healthy year, which would lead to a good year for the Braves. The Story out there was that the Rangers wanted Sale before, and were willing to take on his full salary also. The Braves were interested in Sale last year also, so trading for Sale this year wasn’t on just a whim, or that they were taking any big risk on him, which we have found out isn’t the case at all. Boston’s case for Sale, and Atlanta’s case for Sale are two entirely different cases, and the results of a Cy Young has borne that out.
  11. Atlanta didn’t see Sale as any big gamble IMO. Atlanta didn’t see it as any big risk either IMO. The fact the Braves got the Rookie Brez to cough up $17M was just taking advantage of him IMO also, and taking advantage they did, and then some.🙈🤭
  12. Ah trade Yoshida talk again. Where have I heard that before? I don’t really think there is a lot of interest out there for Yoshida like Bloom had for him, and shut down the bidding process to get him. Just a DH, and really doesn’t put up any big power numbers. In Boston to stay IMO.
  13. No matter how you look at it the Red Sox got slickered, pockets picked, fleeced, or just plain robbed by Atlanta. 🤭🙈
  14. All the other teams could say the same thing if we just went so, and so we would be in. A crowed backfield all looking for playing time, but no one is playing all that good. Sounds like FUN to me.
  15. Plus friendly Fenway hasn’t been to friendly to the Red Sox either.
  16. Like I said before that Atlanta was interested in Sale last year, but Bloom didn’t want to deal, so it’s not like Atlanta made this deal with a hope, and a prayer that Sale would be able to pitch. Atlanta had more foresight on Sale than Boston did, and Atlanta was right, and Brez , and Boston was wrong, and Atlanta is reaping the reward of a Cy Young season from Sale, and Boston is paying the bill. A win, win for Atlanta, and a big loss for Boston.
  17. The wildcard race has gotten a lot more crowded. Misery loves company.
  18. Like I’ve been saying all along that i don’t believe Gio would have been signed without dumping $10M of Sale’s salary. They ended up spending $35M on the moves compared to $27.5M if they would have just kept sale. That adds up to an increase, and not any savings of $10M, which I’ve heard so many times on here. Atlanta had interest in Sale last year as well, so to say that had more foresight, and pessimism than Boston did is not a stretch at all. Atlanta was right, and Brez, and Boston was wrong, and Atlanta will reap the benefits of a CY Young season.
  19. This is not one of Notre Dame’s better teams, and how it ends up we’ll have to wait, and see. A softer schedule this year will be a big help, but I don’t see them running the table at any rate.
  20. Hill, Paxton, Garcia, Sims, Jansen all picked up by Brez around, and after the trade deadline. Would it have been to much to ask for at least one of these to work out? I keep hearing that s*** happens , because of these short comings, but this is full blown diarrhea.
  21. Bottom line did Brez make the team better at the trade deadline? He definitely thought he did, but what is their record since. Picking up a 44 yr old Little League coach to pitch topped it all. Brez gets no pass for this year in my opinion. It was reported when they hired him he wasn’t all that hands on with the Cubs, and did most of his work from home. Bad luck, s*** happens, and bad decisions has dropped the Red Sox to 500, and it’s on the Brez watch, and making excuses for him isn’t going to change that record.
  22. Henry hired Brez, because there wasn’t many to pick from after so many turned down to be even interviewed.
  23. The bottom line is that the team got worse after the trade deadline, and that’s all on Brez. Brez had more than his share of not work out s*** happens this year. Bad luck, or just plain bad decisions?
  24. But what about the lane that Brez picked at the trade deadline? He made sure they stayed underdogs, so it’s Brezslows mess now.
