  1. Wow! 🤭🙈🤮
  2. Baseball ops is priming to do better for the 3rd year in a row, and the payroll is top secret to give the Red Sox a competitive edge. Sounds like full throttle to me. What else can you ask for?
  3. Wow! He waited until the last game of the season to not being able to go in an elimination game.🙈🤭
  4. Sale hasn’t pitched since the 19th, and the idea was to hold him out to an elimination game, and know its here.
  5. Like one fan said I can stand the Red Sox not being good, but I can’t stand the Red Sox not trying to get better. They have said the end goal is playing baseball in October, but haven’t done so for three years now.
  6. Every time you say you are not defending someone, which is often you are always defending someone.🙈🤭
  7. Sam says where the payroll goes is top secret.🤫
  8. Yes, and the Red Sox used to be winners, and in the postseason, and now they are not.
  9. 500 May look good on paper, but in reality it was a step back IMO. The Div was weaker this year, and the league was weaker this year. 81-81 would have still gotten you last place in the division the last two years, and I don’t believe the Red Sox got better than Tampa, and Toronto, but Tampa, and Toronto just got that much worse. Like I keep saying the Red Sox were fantasy contenders in fantasy contention, and once again a Cora led club quit, and caved after the AS break.
  10. They signed 2 reclamations, which has been a favorite hobby of the Red Sox the past few years.
  11. Absolutely Cora should get a BIG part of the blame for the late season flops, and to me this year was the worst of the last three years. It started right after the AS break, and not only did the bats stop working in Sept, but the players holding them did as well. A loss today would be the best fitting end to the season.
  12. The Red Sox need to go out, and get an experienced reliable closer, and don’t plan on reclamation projects IMO. Waiting to see who might work out in ST does not sound like a good plan to me. I said the same thing back in 2022 when Jansen should have been signed then.
  13. Most importantly today is that the Red Sox will honor Joe Castig prior to the game. The Red Sox have had some good announcers through the years with Gowdy, Martin, Coleman, Stockton, Miller, Sean, and Donny O. Castig was one of the best, and was well deserved going into the HOF.
  14. What did this all add up to in the WL column?
  15. I don’t have any hopes at all for Baseball Ops, and that includes Cora too. The Red Sox needed a competent experienced guy in charge, which Brez wasn’t. The reports was when the Sox hired him that he had done most of his work from home with the Cubs, so he has less experience than Bloom did. As has been said just another nerd clone. The way that he hemmed, and hawed before the trade deadline was telling to me.
  16. If keeping the major league team mediocre was his objective then he aced it although in hindsight he made the major league team worse with the Sale trade, and his great work at, or near the trade deadline. If his objective was to make the major league team better to make the postseason he flunked his first test, and gets an F. I don’t give him any pass for being a low pick to be the HOBO of the Boston Red Sox whom Sam said anyone would want to be. I don’t give him a pass for having to work under JH, and I don’t give him any pass for his inexperience. ALL of Baseball Ops failed for the third year in a row.
  17. The 12th pick in the 2024 HOBO draft Brez the Prez made the Red Sox worse off around, and during the trade deadline. JH ran DD off, and has replaced him with 2 Nerd Clones, and it has shown in the standings. 🤮
  18. 👍👍👍. Once again the Red Sox have been fantasy contenders in fantasy contention led by Alex Cora who once agains team caved down the stretch, or since the AS break this year, and out of the postseason for the third year in a row. A rudderless club led by a rudderless skipper whose fundamentals were once again Little League at times.
  19. Agree on Hendricks, and Whit, and somewhat on Martin. I think Martin was starting to breakdown this year after a great 2023, but if they can get him somewhat cheap then yea. I said at the time that Jansen was a good pickup by Bloom, but a year too late. A younger, proven closer is more desirable.
  20. Who said anything about multiple years of Casas for one year of Vlad? As I said in an earlier post the big stumbling block in doing a trade for Vlad would be the resigning. No One even suggested doing just a one year rental for Vlad.🙈
  21. You were doing your Cyndi Lauper impression then, but as usual with an Alex Cora led ball club for the third year in a row the Fat Lady made her annual Red Sox appearance, and once again the Red Sox are on the outside looking in at an postseason appearance. Who couldn’t see that coming?🤭🙈
  22. With the 12th pick in the 2024 HOBO draft the Red Sox pick Brez.
  23. If there was this unlikely trade to happen Casas could be part of the trade, and 1B would be open. You may be right about not trusting Vlad to be consistently driven to perform, but Raffy may be in that category too.
