  1. How did the Red Sox let this Yankee pitcher get away when he pitched in college just around the corner from Fenway.
  2. Yes the 13th was still the regular season, but I think as the season wound down, and the innings piled up even though Bello pitched around the same amount last year he started to struggle more. I think plain, and simple Cora didn’t trust Bello last night, and thus the quick hook.
  3. This is postseason not regular season. This is October not June-July. Bello last pitched against the Yankees Sept 13, and gave up 4 runs in 5 innings. Last night as short as it was was No surprise at all, and more predictable than not. I said before the game that Bello would be on a short leash, but I didn’t believe that short.
  4. Why is anyone questioning Cora on the platoon strategy? It’s not really been a big staple of the Red Sox in the past.
  5. This pretty much sums things up, and Duran is getting closer to being one of those role players.
  6. I’m not blaming Cora, but Whitlock did say he was getting tired near the end throwing those 47 pitches.
  7. Just like I don’t believe the Red Sox gave that contract to RAF Man to be a utility guy I don’t believe the Red Sox gave that contract to Campbell to be a bench guy.
  8. 2-16 against Rodon, and 0-10 with 5 K’s against Fried is good enough for me concerning Duran.
  9. Splits only tell part of a story. What a batter does head to head with the pitcher is what’s Most important.
  10. The only button Cora pushes is the computer button to turn it on, and watch it spit out the RH lineup, and then when the LHP gets taken out it spits out his LHB to replace his RHB just like last night. It’s not all that complicated, and very predictable.
  11. This is a whole entirely situation though being the postseason, and Bello has more innings built up going into October for the first time. Pitch count? Time will tell.
  12. Masa over Eaton I could see, but Refsnyder would have played no matter who was available IMO.
  13. And one of those struggles was against the Yankees.
  14. It was a predictable lineup last night to me with the only question being if Masa started over Duran.
  15. Cora just goes to his computer, and this lineup is what spit out.
  16. Like I’ve mentioned before that many on the Red Sox are in uncharted waters just playing in the postseason, and that includes Crochet plus he’s never thrown this many innings before, so yes anything can happen.
  17. No big deal on Abreu, and, or Lowe not in the lineup as neither was doing that much lately anyway. GOshida yes. Duran is 0-10 against Fried with 5 K’s.
  18. Got to get the pitch count up on Fried like last time. This will be a Big spot for Bello, but I think he’ll be on a short lease. Bello hasn’t really been that effective his last 5 starts, and one of those was against the Yankees. Yankees have had trouble in the BP.
  19. According to TC Bregman did practice, but they are trying to keep him away from the rest of the team as much as possible.
  20. Bregman is sick, and did not travel to NY with the rest of the team. Was driven in car.
