  1. A discussion I heard yesterday was on which teams winning in the postseason is making the Red Sox situation look even worse than it is. DD having a winning team again in Philly? Bingo! The Tigers who were really scuffing at the trade deadline? Bingo! KC who lost 100+ games last year, and went out, and actually spent money this past offseason? Bingo! And the list kept going. Get the picture?
  2. Exactly! You think the Tigers, and Royals fans aren’t glad they made it into the postseason no matter what happens from here. If not sounds like a loser attitude to me.
  3. Story needs a change of scenery too just like Sale to get away from that bad Boston Ju Ju.
  4. I know Anthony has over taken Mayer now, but Mayer was bigger when he was drafted even though 3 teams passed on him, and Mayer fell in to Bloom’s lap. He has lost valuable developmental time the last two years though. Either way I’d still be shocked if he gets traded.
  5. I’d be shocked if Mayer gets traded. He’s been pretty much the chosen one since he was drafted. I could see Duran going before Mayer. I don’t put ANYTHING into trade predictions, suggestions, or opinions on here. Last year Masa, Story, Martin, and Jansen were all being traded at one time, but they all stayed.
  6. He needed two more starts to get to $25M.
  7. Gio back, and Whit probably thrown back into the rotation again. Then you’d have to hope Bello, Kut Man, and Houck can duplicate their being able to duplicate the amount of starts, and innings again next year. Sound like a plan coming together?
  8. It was reported when the Sale trade was made by the Atlanta HOBO, which has been mentioned more than once on here. Not new news.
  9. Like I said earlier that Atlanta were interested in Sale LAST year, so this wasn’t something new. I guess Brez was more easy to deal with, and was more generous with the $17M.
  10. So much for projections. Shed that payroll? I don’t call the Red Sox paying $17M out of $27.5M as really shedding payroll. Lost on Sale. Lost on Gio. Lost on Grissom. This was A total loss for the Red Sox in this situation.
  11. Especially not when the other team in this case the Red Sox are paying all his salary. A freebie this year for the Braves.
  12. Exactly, and the Red Sox paid for that lottery ticket this year. Like I said earlier the Red Sox were the ones who thought they knew something, and as it turned out they didn’t.
  13. Where does it say that the Braves knew something? It was more that the Red Sox thought they knew something, and obviously they didn’t" They were so sure of themselves they paid the Braves $17M, and also paid Gio $18M, so obviously they didn’t know anything there either except they knew Gio liked giving up the long ball. To say the Braves didn’t see any big risk in trading for Sale is a long way from saying they knew something. The Braves were interested in Sale the year before, so it wasn’t an all of a sudden realization the Braves had some inside info. NNN strikes again, and comes up empty.🙈🤭
  14. Gio was definitely a lot more pricey than the usual ones they get.
  15. Gio was just a HR Derby pitcher in 2023. No risk at all.🤭🙈
  16. All Sale needed was to get out of his bad Ju Ju in Boston. I said at the time of the trade I thought Sale would stay healthy, and have a good year with the Braves, which is a better team. Sale got hit with a batted ball, and fell off his bike, so it wasn’t arm related. I think the Braves didn’t see it as any kind of big risk at all especially when they got Brez to pay $17M of his contract. What a deal for the Braves, and it’s really not all that hard to figure all this out.
  17. A trade like Sale where the DBacks pay $17M, and the Red Sox give them a prospect.
  18. The Braves took Sale’s bike away from him in Atlanta. That was an easy one. Must of known something.
  19. Frail Sale to Cy Young Sale.
  20. I liked the Dodgers at an early age, because they went against the Yankees in the WS in the early 60’s, and have been a fan ever since. Liked the Cardinals too for the same reason, but not so much in 67.
  21. It’s only a sham if you buy into what the Red Sox spin, and grin machine spit out. Last year most bought into the Full Throttle comment, and were all excited about meeting with the Yam Man like the Red Sox were going to win a bidding war with all the big spenders. 🙈🤭
  22. Wow! 🤭🙈🤮
  23. Baseball ops is priming to do better for the 3rd year in a row, and the payroll is top secret to give the Red Sox a competitive edge. Sounds like full throttle to me. What else can you ask for?
  24. Wow! He waited until the last game of the season to not being able to go in an elimination game.🙈🤭
