I don’t think it helps anyone’s D playing SS either that Cora moves everyone around so much.

I don’t disagree, but with all the time Story has missed the last two years the Rd Sox hasn’t worried much about good D at SS. Many have taken a turn though the last two years at SS, but none of them have been a glove man first, or even an everyday SS for that matter.

Cora makes his lineups out according to who’s pitching on the other side, and not how the D is going to look, and has for a long time, and I don’t see him changing on that.

Yes another good outing by the Sale Man last night as he picked up his MLB leading 14th win with a 6H, 2ER, 10K game over 6 innings. Still taking the mound, and mowing them down. Also leading all of MLB in K’s, and second in ERA. The Braves don’t even have to go to the bank to pay him this year due to the courtesy, and kindness of JH, and the Boston Red Sox. What a steal by the Braves.

Good outing by BBB last night. Looks like he’s getting better as this season gets longer. This 5-1 is a better way to win than 12-10 as we all know pitching is the key the rest of the season. On The Road Again. I just can’t wait to get on the Road Again!

The primary purpose of the mitt is for hand protection, and has been around for awhile. Stolen base success rate, and stolen bases themselves have gone up big time since the bigger bases, and different rules were put into play in 2023, which all have a bigger impact than the mitt making a big difference. A 1000+ difference in SB from 2022,to 2023. 2024 has already surpassed 2022 too with 40 games to go.

As I have stated many times I was against the Bloom hiring the day it was announced, and it wasn’t so much him, but the Tampa way. I think what Bloom was criticized the most for was looking for that 3rd option in the fork in the road at trade deadline time. If Bloom was sill in Boston I think Sale would still be in Boston if the stories that he had a chance to trade Sale, and his salary, but didn’t are true. Don’t forget the UNDERDOGS either.

The bigger bases just came in last year, and the mits have been around awhile. Both make it easier to steal if the mit hand is what’s touching the bag.

He can throw over 3 times, and if picked off he’s out, but if not it’s a balk.

Yes 4 1/2” shorter path makes it a lot easier to steal bases.

No, and I don’t really think it’s all that clever to pretty much use the shift on everyone.Teams still play up the middle a lot more than they used to that takes a lot of hits away.

I hate making it easier to steal bases, and yes I love eliminating the shift. Shifting to me is not anything clever to where it got to the point it was way ever used on everyone. Show me some good range on SS, and 2B.

Disagree. I like all the rule changes except the bigger bases. Would welcome the 6 inning suggestion too.

I think the jury is still out on Houck, and Crawford. Houck bounced around before between the BP, and rotation, and lacked consistency. He also had some injuries to do with. Maybe he’s coming in to his own, but I want to see how he finishes out this year, and how he looks next year to judge either way.

Even if it’s the majority? MLB heard complaints about the game, and that why changes were made.

I agree 100% on Bailey being overrated philosophy, or results early on. He’s been running a marathon out to the mound just like Busch did with pretty much the same results.

I don’t think anyone would have been upset two years ago if Bloom would have traded Sale, and the rest of his contract. Now what happened after that depends on what the Red Sox would have done with that money saved from that contract, and if they would have invested in more pitching, or not. What happened this year with Sale after finally trading him that have gotten fans upset is how everything has turned out, which is bad on all fronts for the Red Sox. I keep hearing the damned if you do comment, but the outcome of any move is how something is judged good, or bad.The here, and now first, and then the final outcome. Paying the Braves $17M of Sale’s contract wouldn’t be good to me no matter how everything works out.
