  1. There will be 2 good announcers for tonight’s game from the SeaDogs. Lou doesn’t stop talking IMO.
  2. Bailing again? Sliver of hope? 33 games left, and only 4 out in the loss column does not seem like dire straights to me. I’ll admit the play at Fenway has been less than desirable, but it no time to bail on the team now. Of course I don’t twist, and turn according to witch way the wind is blowing like some do.
  3. This booth is OB, and the Yuckers. When you were brought up with Curt Gowdy, Ned Martin, and Ken Coleman who were top notch, and professional this group pales in comparison by a long shot.
  4. Devers Forever some nights, and Never Devers other nights. Sometimes even from AB to AB.
  5. Interesting too that Brez two pickups for the BP at the trade deadline have pitched worse since coming to Boston than they were before.
  6. Hasn’t played since July 30th. Lots of injuries for this kid so far at a young age.
  7. Either way Brez couldn’t have botched things up any more if he had tried to do so. A rookie 12th pick in the 2024 HOBO draft seemed real proud of himself with the work he did at the trade deadline too, and yes he a least picked a lane unfortunately it was the breakdown lane where he found Paxton. The others? Meh.
  8. Not bad against a good team, but the Red Sox lost ground to both Minnesota, and KC.
  9. I don’t think it helps anyone’s D playing SS either that Cora moves everyone around so much.
  10. I don’t disagree, but with all the time Story has missed the last two years the Rd Sox hasn’t worried much about good D at SS. Many have taken a turn though the last two years at SS, but none of them have been a glove man first, or even an everyday SS for that matter.
  11. Cora makes his lineups out according to who’s pitching on the other side, and not how the D is going to look, and has for a long time, and I don’t see him changing on that.
  12. Yes another good outing by the Sale Man last night as he picked up his MLB leading 14th win with a 6H, 2ER, 10K game over 6 innings. Still taking the mound, and mowing them down. Also leading all of MLB in K’s, and second in ERA. The Braves don’t even have to go to the bank to pay him this year due to the courtesy, and kindness of JH, and the Boston Red Sox. What a steal by the Braves.
  13. Good outing by BBB last night. Looks like he’s getting better as this season gets longer. This 5-1 is a better way to win than 12-10 as we all know pitching is the key the rest of the season. On The Road Again. I just can’t wait to get on the Road Again!
  14. Are these the same 2 teams that scored 22 runs last night?
  15. The primary purpose of the mitt is for hand protection, and has been around for awhile. Stolen base success rate, and stolen bases themselves have gone up big time since the bigger bases, and different rules were put into play in 2023, which all have a bigger impact than the mitt making a big difference. A 1000+ difference in SB from 2022,to 2023. 2024 has already surpassed 2022 too with 40 games to go.
  16. As I have stated many times I was against the Bloom hiring the day it was announced, and it wasn’t so much him, but the Tampa way. I think what Bloom was criticized the most for was looking for that 3rd option in the fork in the road at trade deadline time. If Bloom was sill in Boston I think Sale would still be in Boston if the stories that he had a chance to trade Sale, and his salary, but didn’t are true. Don’t forget the UNDERDOGS either.
  17. The bigger bases just came in last year, and the mits have been around awhile. Both make it easier to steal if the mit hand is what’s touching the bag.
  18. He can throw over 3 times, and if picked off he’s out, but if not it’s a balk.
  19. Yes 4 1/2” shorter path makes it a lot easier to steal bases.
  20. That definitely wasn’t for safety.
  21. No, and I don’t really think it’s all that clever to pretty much use the shift on everyone.Teams still play up the middle a lot more than they used to that takes a lot of hits away.
  22. I hate making it easier to steal bases, and yes I love eliminating the shift. Shifting to me is not anything clever to where it got to the point it was way ever used on everyone. Show me some good range on SS, and 2B.
