  1. Being 3rd in the AL in runs scored is a very misleading stat just as all the high OPS that the Red Sox batters have that Moon keeps touting. No doubt the BP has sucked, but despite all the high numbers from the offense for the season the batters share plenty of blame too for the 500 record.
  2. Barnum, and Bailey it is.
  3. Brez won’t win any executive of the year award this year. Most of what he did just did not work out, but it made the team worse. Trading Sale, and his 5 pickups at, or near the trade deadline was all on Brez, and not JH. Adding a OF who has hit 30 HR was no big deal. Even Bloom did that. Brez should get plenty of blame for the failure of this years team. As Sam said two years ago Baseball Ops failed, and failed again they did. ALL of them.
  4. Especially consistent at the end of the season.
  5. The Div is weaker, and the league is weaker, and the Red Sox record is around the same, so I don’t see any optimism in thinking the Red Sox are better now.
  6. What would be really interesting is if all these stats led to the team to be a winning team, and make it into the postseason. This is all very misleading.
  7. Toronto, and Tampa are weaker this year then they have been the last 2-3 years, and this isn’t one of the better Yankees team either especially outside of Soto, and Judge, and for the most part I think the whole league is weaker, so having the same record at this point in the season doesn’t mean the Red Sox are as good as the last two years, and maybe even worse.
  8. I think this sums it up pretty well. Like I said earlier the September Red Sox are a fantasy contender in fantasy contention.
  9. The Red Sox have scored 3, or fewer runs in 14 of their last 20 games, and have gone 7-13 in that time. These stats may look good on paper, but pretty meaningless in the success of the team. Must be a lot of stat padding in the good games.
  10. Yankee Stadium the House that Ruth built, and the house that Raffy loves.
  11. Jimmy? I threw in Dick Williams who was the manager of my favorite team the 67 Red Sox just to make it more interesting. Sorry for the confusion, and the add on, but that to me was the best job of managing of any Red Sox manager I’ve seen, and I couldn’t leave him out.
  12. I like Cora, but I think he’s way overrated as a manager. Take out 2018, and this season isn’t over yet, but if the postseason isn’t made this will be three years in a row. Thrown in that the ball club has been bad fundamentally, and have a losing record at Fenway for the second year in a row too. I know most blame the ownership, and front office more than Cora, but Cora has plenty to be blamed for too like the things I mentioned. Cora has said we’ve got to do better 100’s of times, but that only goes so far without showing it.
  13. As one writer of the Globe said that the Red Sox are fantasy contenders in fantasy contention.
  14. After the fact, or not the point is that everything Brez did at the trade deadline, and after failed, and the Red Sox became worse then they were before.
  15. Yes. Yes Yes.
  16. Sell high for pitching.
  17. I guess Brez did pick a lane at the trade deadline, but unfortunately as I have said before it was the breakdown lane. He picked up Paxton, hitchhiking, and then, because there was room in the car he picked up Hill. His two BP pickups pitched worse after arriving in Boston, and now both of them are hurt. Jansen at C hasn’t added anything either. All in all Brez has made things worse, and not better. 0-5 is not good no matter how you slice, and dice it, and neither was Brez, but then again what would you expect from the 12th pick in the 2024 HOBO draft. Sale, Gio, and Grissom all turning out as bad as they did unfortunately were signs of bad things to come. You can chalk it up to bad luck, or as one poster on here said s*** happens, but right now there is a big Steaming pile right outside of Brez’s door. Maybe Mike Rowe should visit from Dirty Jobs.
  18. Could this be another loss this week for ND? At Purdue, which is an old rival would not be surprising to see them lose. The offense has to do better if ND is to do better.
  19. You could have done that all year long, and guess what? The record would still be what it is today, which is a few games over 500, which is nothing to brag about unless you have lowered the bar so much that anything 500, or above looks like an improvement, and a success.
  20. Personally I don’t care if he ever speaks to the media, but to question why Raffy needs to be THAT guy now, which really isn’t all of a sudden is, because now he is the face of the franchise. Bogey was that guy, but he’s gone, and now like it, or not Raffy is that guy. That’s his choice on whether he talks to the media, or not, but to only do it when he, or the team is going good is not a good look. He has sulked at 3B before when the rest of the IF was meeting on the mound, which wasn’t a good look either.
  21. Could see this coming when it happened, and Bloom was so proud of this move.
  22. Wow how things have changed.
  23. Oh no! Say it ain’t so that Masa Yoshida must go. Chaim Bloom wasn’t kidding when he said we need Yoshida bad, so let’s shut down the bidding. Boras is still laughing over this one.
