  1. After starting out listening to Curt Gowdy, Ned Matin, and Ken Coleman the NESN both the last several years have been nothing but Yuckers IMO. Lou is better than Youk, and Millar though.
  2. Good opening day win. Solid pitching, good D for the most part, and Abreu.
  3. Agree 100% on McDonough.
  4. Good to see opening day here, and hopefully a good start to a promising season that looks that way on paper anyway, but the Red Sox are just a warmup for me to the COOPER FLAGG show tonight.
  5. I wasn’t talking about waiting contract wise, but what would be a good showing of what Crochet can do over a Full year.
  6. Didn’t Crochet’s people put out there what it would take to extend him before he was dealt? 30-35 starts with at least 175 innings would be a good start to see what he’s got especially come Sept-Oct.
  7. I hope the Yankees win 100 games this year. Baltimore too. That makes it more fun. 2021, which seems like ages ago was fun. I heard so many times how the poor, unfortunate Red Sox has to play in the tough AL East, which they have done since Divisions were brought in. When the Red Sox have been good they have been successful, and when they haven’t like the last three years they haven’t. Seems like the AL East is weaker this year, and that is not good IMO. The tougher it is the better it is to me, and more exciting.
  8. I don’t think most observers have just called the catch only decent, and certainly the circumstances the catch was made is not out there on a nightly basis either.
  9. RAF Man is not in JBJ’s league yet IMO. I’ve seen RAF Man make a couple better catches in Portland than I’ve seen with the Red Sox, and I don’t think it’s helped the RAF Man’s D by also playing IF. He said last year it would take him a few games to adjust tracking flyballs after playing games at SS.
  10. Agree, and like I’ve posted before Mayer lost valuable developmental time the last two years due to injury. There isn’t any big need with the Red Sox right now with Story at SS, but that could change in a blink of an eye with Story going down with an injury. More seasoning at Woo won’t hurt him a bit.
  11. 172 days on active roster, or injury list = 1 yr of service time.
  12. Everyone knew what Chapman can do when they signed him, but no one knows what Hendricks has left. I don’t think ST meant anything to Chapman, but it did to Hendricks.
  13. It looked like the Braves were going to try him in the OF as a last resort.
  14. Mayer, and Campbell both will not make opening day unless Story goes down in the meantime. 2B is the ONLY opening right now.
  15. Injuries have a way of changing things if he puts things together.
  16. The injuries the last two years took away valuable developmental time, and if not he would most likely be on the 26 right now IMO.
  17. Boras is still laughing about that one. Never shut things down that fast. He knew NO ONE was going higher than Boston.
  18. There was a need for outfielders at the time, and that was Bloom’s big splash for losing Bogey.
  19. I’ve already discussed my opinion when Anthony makes the team. Duran-RAF Man- Anthony OF. I’ve also discussed as of right now Ref Man would platoon in RF with Abreu. I don’t see moving the whole OF around for Ref Man either. Once again Raf Man is the FT CF IMO, and musical OF is NOT needed.
  20. I don’t think about who doesn’t play let alone care about it. I also don’t worry about someone losing AB Ref Man, or anyone else. When all three suspects finally make the 26 you’ll have to many players, and someone will have to go hopefully for some pitching. I know you, and others see The RAF Man as some type of super utility guy, and I just don’t see it that way. Just, because he can doesn’t mean he will.
