  1. Heat wave in Boston tonight being in low to mid 40’s.
  2. Yes I dislike shuffling, and I’m all for having the Ref Man in the lineup against LHP. I don’t really care if the bench guys get much playing time. KC is far from a polished 2B, and he needs all the reps he can get there IMO even if that means he doesn’t get an occasional day in the OF. Role players can do the shuffling that’s what they are there for.
  3. A year ago the Red Sox were trying to lock Casas long term, but this past offseason they were reportedly trying to trade him to Seattle for pitching, so I don’t know if Casas is in the Red Sox long term plans anymore. Pitching is always needed , and I can see more trades being done to get some. Not right now, but maybe next offseason. I don’t know how high Casas trade value is right now though.
  4. That may be, but Romy was swinging the bat better in the early season than Casas.
  5. No need to shuffle anything, or bench RAF Man IMO. Even if the RAF Man doesn’t draw enough walks, or hit as well that some would like the rest of the offense should be good enough that he doesn’t have to. The least shuffling around the better. That’s why Ref Man is playing RF even in Fenway.
  6. Better pitching, and cold conditions helped.
  7. Agree 100%, and I’ve been saying that right along. Playing in the OF does nothing in helping him be a better 2B. If 2B is going to be his position that’s where he should stay. Just, because he can play the OF doesn’t mean he should. RAF Man said more than once last year that it took him a few games to adjust going back, and forth between SS, and CF, and especially tracking fly balls after playing a few games at SS. Moving around should be for the Romy’s, and backup types.
  8. Seems like Cora’s postgame last night was pretty much the standard from the last two years when he said we didn’t make the plays. Also said brutal conditions.
  9. Good move with Romy. I don’t think Casa would scare anyone right now from bringing in a RHP. Abreu yes. Ref Man in RF again, at Fenway.
  10. Even if Bello, and Gio come back in to rotation most likely Fitts, Newcomb, or Kut Man will be needed somewhere down the line.
  11. Temp in the 30’s with 25-35 MPH W winds in Boston tonight. More good April weather in the NE.
  12. I agree that Fitts is probably a backend of the rotation pitcher. Gio’s contract will get him his chances if nothing else.
  13. I wouldn’t put to much into Fitts outing last night. His control was off, but that was crappy weather to pitch in too. I know Gio was a good pitcher at one time, but when last seen he was a HR Derby pitcher. Aside from any setbacks Bello should be up maybe after 1 more start .
  14. Are we really counting on Gio to be much better?
  15. 30 days should be more than enough time.
  16. 38 degrees ENE winds gusting to 20 MPH. Just right.
  17. Not when you start the season in March, and then try to play in Boston in early April.
  18. You keep talking about someone complaining about Abreu kicking the ball around in RF early last year, but what you conveniently leave out was he was doing it at the time, and was being talked about on the airwaves, and the papers also. It was also a fact he has turned out to be a better than good RF. Kind of like the Butterfly Man who turned out to be a better than good OF.
  19. Why is it you keep bringing up ONLY the weight thing? Is that the best comeback you can muster?I’ve said all along there were a number of things that was preventing Raffy to hitting a baseball with his mechanics being messed up being one of them right from the start, which you kept Pooh, poohing. The weight was added later on when a picture was being shown side by side of Raffy in 2024, and Raffy in 2025, and the 2025 picture showed Raffy showing more girth in the trunk. You were saying Cora was embarrassing Raffy by playing him, and I even heard the word fired being thrown around. Raffy was embarrassing himself. You hit the panic button, and crawled on a ledge, and thought there was a major crisis when there was NO CRISIS at all.
  20. As many laps as you guys took claiming their was a major crisis going on when there was none not only with Raffy, but the whole offense as well, and this was all done after all of three games into the season. How enjoyable was all that?
  21. Freak out is right, and then some. Only after three games too. I hate to see what they would do in a REAL crisis. Not only did Raffy make a miraculous recovery, but the much maligned hitting coaches after three games as well has gotten the team hitting again. Way to go guys.
  22. What a miraculous recovery Raffy has had in less than a week after having double shoulder surgery. OH wait he wasn’t hurt at all just some messed up mechanics. Great diagnosis.
