  1. I don’t think it would scream that at all. Sell high. The Red Sox have an abundance of LHH, and Anthony is on the way sooner than later. I know the talk on here is to get rid of Abreu, but Duran would be a better chip. Like I’ve said many times that NO One should be untouchable, and that includes Duran.
  2. Do you think the Red Sox could have used the $17M Boston paid Atlanta for Sale to pitch for them on maybe getting another starting pitcher? I think having Sale have a CY Young season for another team that the Red Sox paid for warranted posting over, and over, and thanks to you for helping keep the conversation going all season long. Good job! Also posting Sale’s stats over, and over was, because those stats were actually happening. Raffy moving to 1B was not.
  3. As I’ve mentioned earlier. I saw Boomer Scott, and Youk moved to 1B from 3B, and both became excellent 1B. To say moving to 1B is no big deal is not as easy for Everyone as everyone makes it out to be. I’m not even discussing that the move isn’t warranted, or worth trying. My opinion is that the Red Sox are just not going to do it in the near future.
  4. The main point for me was any championships won before the SB were played were just as important. I mainly go by what I have seen that I can remember from the early 60’s on.
  5. I’ll take a stab in the dark, but IMO you saying NOT, or going on, and on, and on about moving Raffy off 3B is going to influence the Red Sox brain trust one way, or the other. Persistent, but not successful.
  6. I know he will do it with others that is what Cora does, but when I said others I was referring to Raffy, which is a whole different conversation then throwing spaghetti against a wall to see if they will stick. Moving Raffy to 1B would be a lot bigger move then trying all the others you mentioned. The rest of the moves you mentioned was to see if they could help in a pinch, and not for a FT move, or this big of magnitude. Raffy was signed as a 3B, and not as a 1B/DH. Like I’ve repeatedly said before that Cora says Raffy is is 3B, so I won’t lose any sleep thinking, or worrying about Raffy moving to 1B, and I’m sure you will let me know when he does.🤫
  7. We agree on one thing that Cora doesn’t go by much of anything when it comes to D even though he says it has to get better all the time. You keep thinking Raffy has to be moved off 3B, and I just don’t think Cora sees it that way viable candidate, or not since Casas is at 1B. To you Chapman would have been the right move, but the Red Sox brain trust didn’t agree. Just, because Raf Man got moved around doesn’t mean he’ll do it with others. Not everyone can play two important positions like the RAF Man can. He’s a special case.
  8. You crack me up always trying to distinguish on what you say is an opinion, suggestion, or prediction. You really don’t have any idea if moving Raffy to 1B will improve the D, or that Mayer, or Campbell would improve the D at 3B. Opinions, suggestions, or predictions can all be right, or wrong, and one isn’t any better, or worse than the other ones.
  9. Analytic data? Do you think Cora makes his lineup out, or makes all the moves he does during games, because of analytic data for his defense? If he does he’d better try something else, because the D has been bad for 3 years. Cora has said he makes his lineups out based on who the opposing pitcher is, and not for defense. Raffy could have been tried at 1B instead of Franchy. He wasn’t. Raffy could have been tried at 1B this year when Casas got hurt. They didn’t. Cora has said more than once Raffy is his 3B. I guess that isn’t good enough for some on here, but that’s irrelevant.
  10. #1 Bloom isn’t here anymore, and some point could be a long time away. Raf Man kept getting moved, because Story Land was down for repairs, and because the Red Sox once again had no reliable gloveman to take over SS. Either it wasn’t a big concern, or Kike wasn’t available again. All of these are just examples of improvement to the D is no big concern. Casas remains one BIg obstacle of moving Raffy to 1B, and I think Cora is another. Raffy is the 3B.
  11. And like I keep saying most likely the Red Sox will continue to play the cards they have dealt themselves, which is Raffy at 3B, Casas at 1B, and Masa at DH. Making the constant switches that keeps being suggested on here is way down the list of Red Sox priorities, if on the list at all IMO.
  12. Could they? Yes. Would they? NO to all.
  13. The thinking that Devers could just slide over to 1B, and be better is wishful thinking at best. Maybe he could, but i doubt he would be a Boomer Scott, or Youck over there, and like you said he could be worse than Casas.
  14. Tell that to all the teams that won championships prior to the Super Bowl like the Packers.
  15. What you haven’t figured out is that even though Cora talks about the D having to get better all the time I don’t think the Red Sox have shown the last three years they are all that concerned about it. Arroyo in RF, Franchy at 1B, kike at SS, and keeping him there as the errors mount up. Cora says he makes the lineup out depending on who the opposing pitcher is, and when Cora makes his wholesale changes during a game the D takes a backseat there too, so all the justified talk about how the D needs to be improved on here just isn’t a priority to the zRed Sox brain trust.
  16. If Brez could pull that off without paying even if he gives him away I would like to see it. I would think JH hates paying for players not on the Red Sox anymore. I would guess though that Masa is not in high demand throughout MLB.
  17. If, if,if one of the favorite games to play on here. Most likely Casas will be the 1B. Raffy will be the 3B, and Masa will be the DH when the Red Sox season opens in 2025.
  18. It did, but it didn’t have to, and wasted expense at that. Bad deal, back luck, and s*** happens all in one deal.
  19. San Diego won an AFC Championship back in 63 beating the Patriots 51-10. A great game it was.
  20. Exactly! The Royals Actually tried to get better this past offseason, and the Red Sox didn’t put out much of an effort.
  21. It doesn’t matter if the Royals are any better than the Red Sox at all. The main point being they are in the post season, and the Red Sox are not. The old poor , poor Red Sox cry of being in a tougher Div, which they have been in the same division since the exception of the Div. The Red Sox under the leadership of Alex Cora fell apart after the AS break, and swooned at the end of the season for the third year in a row. As Max pointed out several times this year the Red Sox struggled to go 4-3 against the White Sox, so it’s far from a certainty the Red Sox would have won that more if they had played the White Sox more.
