    8th on the team in PA's. bWAR -0.2 fWAR -0.3 Should be jettisoned, honestly. Close the books on Chaim's Folly. They should actually release Story and Yoshida simultaneously, just for the poetry of it.

    Roster construction has been a major problem for both of Henry's Newbie Hires, Chaim and Craig.

    If the Sox do sell off hard at the deadline, the 100 loss season is definitely in reach.

    I will give Sam one tiny merit point for at least admitting that this season is embarrassing. That was a few weeks ago. It keeps getting more embarrassing. If the Sox drop the next 5 they'll be on pace for 100 losses.

    The weather has heated up but the Sox bats remain cool. 3.89 runs a game - absolutely pitiful.

    FWIW the conspiracy theory is that Breslow is the man dictating the organization's hitting approach and the organization's hitting approach is misguided and rigid and players are frustrated with it and all that stuff.

    6.1 innings, 4 hits, 0 walks, 7 K's. So that's an ERA of 2.84, a WHIP of .63, and a K/BB of infinity. We're really splitting hairs if we're arguing about whether this is excellent or not.

    Well, he had one disaster start and has had 2 more excellent ones since.

    Oh, I understand the reasoning. But you could also flip to a scenario where if you're a good team, you might extend some of these guys on expiring contracts instead of trading them. This 2026 team is hard enough to follow as it is, it's going to be really grim after you remove Gray and Chapman and Duran and/or whoever. The Red Sox have sure had a pile of losing seasons starting in 2012. It's been a somewhat bizarre roller coaster ride. Not complaining about the 2 rings in there, of course. But as of right now this organization feels like a directionless mess.

    Unfortunately 2027 could be a non-season. We are in crappy times.

    A lot of sports fans are impatient idiots, always have been and always will be. Just goes with the territory. Let's face it, being a sports fan is not one of the most rational things we do with our lives. 🙂

    The problem is I suspect they are pretty close to tossing the towel on 2026 and are looking at moving guys out rather than in.

    And this is why I can't help wondering if the organizational approach is the real problem.

    It's all on Breslow now. He canned Cora and the hitting coaches and as you noted, Kyle Boddy is now gone too. Breslow seems to be a walking disaster in the offense department. He will likely be gone soon too. But I don't think Henry and Kennedy have any clue where to turn next. Just a sad state of affairs. I feel bad for the paying fans.
