  1. But he OPS'd over .900 playing DH for the Giants last year.
  2. Might be a small sample fluke, but in 200 PA's when he plays first base, Devers has a .571 OPS.
  3. It does seem that he was a bigger loss than anyone realized at the time.
  4. Which feeds a narrative that the Sox have become a soulless corporate entity with zero people skills.
  5. The old curmudgeons, Shaughnessy and Buckley, both say Breslow is the one who should have been axed. I guess we'll find out.
  6. This is the second time in 4 seasons Dillon Lawson has been fired in-season.
  7. Henry made a nice statement about Cora.
  8. Assistant hitting coach Dillon Lawson was also canned. Interestingly, Varitek is being moved to another position in the organization.
  9. Wow. A bit of a shock but I think it had to be done. Who's up?
  10. I'm afraid the ship has sailed. John is going to be hearing that 3 word chant a lot.
  11. It all comes back to Henry's Hubris in 2019, the firing of Dombrowski and the trade of Betts. That was when he asserted himself as Mr. Smartest Guy In The Room, who could take things in a whole new direction and succeed on his terms. Which led to hiring 2 completely inexperienced CBOs.
  12. Even 68-94 would make them worse than the 2012 team. As you pointed out, there's not much hope for a boost to the offense from the farm. Feels like a long bad season and people getting fired.
  13. The only optimistic Sox fans right now are the ones rooting for executives, managers and/or coaches to get fired.
  14. The Sox SLG is 331, dead last in the majors. Unspeakably feeble.
  15. Ouch. Brez might go down as the worst offense builder in Sox history.
  16. So if the offense continues to be this putrid what do they do? New hitting coach? New manager? I used to be a big Cora fan but I think I'm now a Cora agnostic...
  17. A lot of guys are below career averages. Durbin had a 101 OPS+ last year. It's 31 this year.
  18. A 644 OPS and 13 dingers in 24 games. There are no words to suitably describe how feeble this offense is.
  19. Man, this is just a total disaster. I can't help thinking the Driveline hitting program is a big part of the problem. I still think it was a dark day when they hired Dillon Lawson, a guy the Yankees canned mid-season. This team has made a lot of bad decisions since the day they traded Betts.
  20. Positive regression coming. Either that or a new hitting coach...
