They are basically using Yoshida as a platoon DH. Only 24 of his 196 PAs are against lefties. I don't think much of his game but like every Sox player I root for him when he's in the lineup.
Tracy's in-game management seems fine to me. I haven't seen much howling about it in game threads.
Maybe the one complaint was when he had Bello try starting again and it blew up.
Especially now with the freaking Dodgers as loaded as they are, and set up to keep rolling like this a few more years.
Which is part of the reason the upcoming labor talks promise to be ugly. We have teams that are over the salary cap the owners are looking for by vast amounts.
I'm not saying we're better, but you could make a case that we have a better shot of going deep in the playoffs than they do because we would be facing weaker opponents. Plus I think we are getting better. But I'm a little biased, admittedly.
