  1. Seems like there's no chance in hell Bloom would be seriously interested in Ray, with those extra penalties involved.
  2. Put him on ignore, for the sake of your mental health.
  3. If there was a forum pool on guessing this it would have been you, moon and mvp.
  4. I guess they're the most likely trade candidates. There are some unlikely ones too.
  5. Right, that's what I'm getting at. There will always be clunkers.
  6. In spite of which, I'd have to call the existing deal Bogey signed a team-friendly one.
  7. Hmmm, seems like every offseason we talk about "addition by subtraction".
  8. Right. I had a suspicion I was leaving out another good Pinder.
  9. That's the smart way to do it. But it could be a long wait. So in the meantime we have to jabber about something.
  10. If you're going to whiff, relatively cheap one-year whiffs are the way to go. And all three of those did deliver some value.
  11. Lucy is the only good Pinder.
  12. And I'm so humble I'd settle for being a mega-rich person's accountant.
  13. Oh yeah, you're absolutely right. But the man could get injured next year and it's all gone. Players need to listen more to their accountants and less to their agents.
  14. As far as Freeman is concerned, I hope the Braves get that deal done so the Yanks can't swoop, because I think Hal might give that one the financial thumbs-up.
  15. The bottom line is, Bloom is probably not going to do anything that the fans want, including moon's persistent requests to trade Vaz. And we probably won't know if we like what he's done until sometime in April, 2022.
  16. Lynn made a catch on a Saturday Game of the Week, it was in Baltimore. A ball that was headed over the fence, Lynn had a long run, leaped and caught the ball on its way over the fence and pulled his glove back in the same motion. It was one of the best I've seen. Here's the clip - it's the second highlight.
  17. He should IMHO.
  18. We already know that the owners were seeking to lower the tax threshold to 180 million and the players said that was a non-starter.
  19. And Bloom is rather glacial himself.
  20. $320M, that's easy. We're early in the game, but it remains to be seen whether any $300 million contract will prove to be worth it. As far as I can tell, the most expensive contract that's been clearly worth it is Scherzer's $210 million.
  21. Last 5 AL MOY winner's teams - all low payroll teams: TB TB MIN OAK MIN Looks like the last time the manager of the WS champs won the award was Ozzie Guillen in 2005. It's a joke.
  22. Yeah, I have to think some voters penalized him for that. They've been known to let personal feelings influence their votes.
  23. Weaver's comments about baseball are the most sensible I've heard.
  24. I'm not judging Lindor based on one season. But I will judge that the 341 million was nuts.
  25. Forget it then LOL It's time for someone to come to their senses. 4-5 win players (in their prime) should not be getting anything like those numbers. Xander is not Mookie.
