  1. You didn't like Farrell or Francona as managers either. Seems like you just don't like managers.
  2. Chapman deadline trades have yielded Gleyber Torres and Cole Ragans. Torres has been a decent player but Yankee fans were fine seeing him go. Ragans had a great 2024 but is having a nightmare 2025. There are no guarantees that trading Chapman would bring back anything that would excite you 2-3 years from now. In return for that chance you're giving up on a season and all the time, money and emotion that's invested in it.
  3. Admirable work as the designated game thread voice of reason. 🙂
  4. Not true at all. Cora tries to maximize the advantages of L-R matchups and he has a few prototypical platoon hitters to juggle.
  5. Refsnyder and Romy kill lefties, so not starting them vs. a lefty would be malpractice.
  6. Negativity is the default position, moon. Especially on game threads. Fred can stay negative when the team is winning 10 in a row, so what what would you expect in a loss. 😛
  7. I'd say it's a totally legit question why Cora didn't pinch-hit Narvaez for Wong in the 7th. And I think I know what the possible answers are, but it's definitely something he should have been asked about after the game.
  8. Fans are a funny bunch. I still see a few people here criticizing the Sox for trading Nomar.
  9. I wouldn't expect them to be talking extension yet, I'd say there's a strong wait and see factor here...
  10. I don't know about genius, but it'll definitely shut up most of the critics of the trade. I think Devers is not 100% again and I do suspect he's starting to break down physically.
  11. They could of course offer him a new deal if they really like him.
  12. Seems like a lot for a rental bat. Who's the last real rental bat the Sox acquired - Steve Pearce? They gave up Espinal for him.
  13. If he hits the innings target it becomes a mutual option and he's a goner.
  14. Getting him a little extra rest. He has pitched 129.1 innings after only throwing 146 last year - which was his career high. There are health and overuse concerns. And Crochet's health is the most important thing for the whole franchise.
  15. Last 18 games - .554 OPS and 0 HR. Looks a lot like last August.
  16. Fred is only part of the Doom Crew that worked this thread. 😛
  17. Your new dual identity is messing me up a bit. 😀
  18. Baseball is just a crazy freakin' game. All that matters is the Ws and the Ls.
