  1. I keep it PG on here, but you don’t want to know what I say in the group chat to my friends about some of these guys. As a die hard fan, it’s brutal
  2. This was an awesome read. I’m obviously a little younger and I’m not going to lie, I had to google who the hell Phil Plantier was lol but this brought back some nostalgic moments. I at different points in life thought Jed Lowrie, Devern Hansack (lol), Manny Delcarmen, Daniel Bard and Blake Swihart were going to be stars.. I also have autographs of Ryan Lavarnway, Will Middlebrooks and Lars Anderson that as a teenager thought would be very valuable. I also at one point was an active card collector and the player I liked and decided to collect autographs of was Michael Bourn. He once signed a card for me in person and was nice to me and we had a nice talk. He didn’t really pan out quite like I hoped and I have like 25 autographed cards of him lol.
  3. Tyler O’Neill is a very odd player. I think we should make an attempt to retain him. If he stays healthy he very well could flirt with 40-45 homers. Health is main issue though and always has been
  4. I’m a fan. The articles are well written, the same good group of guys we already had is still here with some new faces and the site looks great. Good work, Brock.
  5. I like this idea. It’s hard to tell if game thread interactions are down due to the new format or if we’re all just losing interest in a pretty mediocre Red Sox team. I’ll try and follow the game today but I’m more interested in the NFL today for betting/fantasy reasons.
  6. A lot of This is just flat out wrong. Duran is great defensively. Story is good defensively. Romy is at least average and Hamilton was actually very solid defensively at 2B.
  7. I like Castillo and would absolutely take him in Boston. I think he’s a bit underrated as well
  8. Yoshida can definitely hit, the problem is he is slow, can’t field and doesn’t have a ton of power, so he’s a bit limited as a player and I’m not sure how many teams are in need of a pure DH
  9. Devers owns Cole so much that it’s actually impacting Cole mentally. He looked legitimately scared every time Devers came up. Devers was 1-1 with a 2 run single, walk and HBP and even stole a base. It’s almost comical that now matter how much Devers is slumping or how good Cole is pitching, Devers is going to hit well against him.
  10. I didn’t say that he did, but he is still a valuable asset as is. He is 23 years old and a rookie. It’s not crazy to think he’ll improve and benching him right now makes no sense as it doesn’t help the team or his development.
  11. Aw yes, because Fox articles are always correct. Fox once published an article calling the Red Sox racist because their team looked “very Caucasian” after trading Manny Ramirez.
  12. Because he’s 35, and most 35 year old outfielders whose best assets are speed and defense, tend to decline as they get older. Are you really hating on a guy who won an ALCS MVP and made some of the greatest catches we’ve ever seen in center field? Alright then. Rafaela is only 23, and hitting bottom of the order and is an outstanding defender in center, benching him right now does absolutely nothing to help his plate discipline or make him better in the long run. He has all 5 tools, and if he puts it all together the sky is the limit. If he doesn’t? We have a gold glove center fielder who bats near bottom of the order and comes up with timely hits quite often. He is nowhere near the biggest issue on the team, nor should they bench him.
  13. Also JBJ Is like 35. He’s just old and washed in baseball years. He was a very solid player in his prime.
  14. You mean ALCS MVP, gold glove winning, World Series champion Jackie Bradley Jr? Yeah who wants a guy like that hitting 9th.
  15. Yeah, the 23 year old, gold glove level fielder with a near 3 WAR is useless. Who needs those guys???
  16. Rafael Devers domination of Gerrit Cole needs to be studied. He is legit scared of Raffy
  17. If the Sox are going to miss the playoffs, they might as well do it while playing spoiler against the Yankees after taking 2/3 from Baltimore.
  18. Did he ever tell them or imply he was going to talk to the media Sunday?
  19. Is talking to the media even required in baseball? I know there is pretty strict rules requiring media seasons in NFL and NBA, but I wasn’t aware of anything like that in MLB. Devers has previously implied he doesn’t like talking to the media and part of it is due to him lacking confidence in his English. He can speak English fine but I think he has the worry that a lot of guys have when speaking a second language, their words being misconstrued or taken the wrong way. I know Ohtani has spoken about this previously. This is a non story for me. If he doesn’t want to talk to the media, don’t. It doesn’t mean he isn’t a good leader or clubhouse guy.
  20. Missing the playoffs with this schedule and the expanded college football playoff is unacceptable. It would be one thing to lose to a ranked team late in the season, But Northern Illinois? This team doesn’t deserve it. I also heavily question the play calling. Why do they not give the ball to Jeremiyah Love more? Scouts rave about him and whenever he touches the ball, good things happen and he only has 28 total touches In 2 games.. he’s scored a touchdown in both games and averaging nearly 7 yards a carry but they don’t use him. I don’t get it
  21. Riley Leonard does not look good. Disgustingly unacceptable loss
  22. Another player who I feel like who is fairly forgotten and pretty random that played in Boston is Bill Hall. He looked like he was about to be out of the league and signed in Boston for the league minimum and surprisingly was a very good bench player for a season.
  23. Honestly the only reason I remember Brandon Phillips in Boston is he was one of my favorite players. I was so excited when we signed him to a minor league deal and hoped he had something left in the tank, at least defensively. I still remember that game winning pimp job homer he hit. It was one of the many memorable moments from 2018. I wish I could forget Allen Craig because he really sucked.
  24. I work restaurant industry and a lot of the liquor reps give us free tickets in exchange for carrying certain items. The Wizards, Nats, Caps and Orioles tickets are usually not very sought after so I usually take the baseball ones and go with my girlfriend or a friend whose a fan of the opposing team.
