  1. They really don’t want automated strike zones though and it could eventually lead to them losing their jobs.
  2. The umpires have a strong union and aren’t going to go down without a long/annoying fight. I think This is the first step of getting us towards that but they aren’t going to just get rid of umps completely yet. It’s going to take time to get people to be fully on board with this.
  3. As someone whose had to watch CB Bucknor, Angel Hernandez, Joe West and other *******s try to be the center of attention and make s***** calls consistently and not get held accountable, I like the system/idea. The challenge process is very quick and has to be done immediately by the better or catcher, so it doesn’t delay the game a whole lot.
  4. Pretty good game for Bregman today. Not a very good game for whoever the hell Zachary Fogell is!
  5. When Arod was traded to Yankees, I also don’t think they had the advanced defensive statistics and metrics we have now. Hell, Jeter was considered a good fielder during his prime and racked up many unwarranted gold gloves. It’s kind of hard to compare 2004 vs 2025.
  6. I think Devers comments are being blown out of proportion and aren’t a real issue. When Story was signed, someone asked Bogaerts if he would be moving to 2nd or 3rd and he gave a similar answer that Devers did. It was talked about for a few days and was never an issue. I think part of the reason the media is taking about this so much is the complete pause in other sports right now. NHL/NBA are on a break for all star break and 4 nations tournament and NFL season hasn’t even hit free agency yet. I turned on ESPN this morning and so little has happened in sports the past few days, they were still discussing Ja Morants tweets about the dunk contest from Saturday night.
  7. If Vladdy Jr actually wants to come to Boston, maybe they trade Casas next off season.
  8. Even if Bregman can’t match O’Neill’s offensive production fully, having Casas for a full season over Dominic Smith and friends should help the offense. Last season, there was over 500 ABs taken by Dominic Smith, Garrett Cooper, Pablo Reyes, Emmanuel Valdez, Bobby Dalbec and other rejects. With the current depth and MLB ready prospects, even with injuries that hopefully shouldn’t be a major issue this season.
  9. I agree. I think due to his talent and age he’s someone to definitely keep heading into the season. It doesn’t make much sense to trade him while he’s being paid the league minimum, coming off a basically lost season due to injuries.
  10. I’m fully against a Casas trade, especially right now when I believe they’d be selling low.
  11. It seems like a lot of people are writing Hamilton off. He was very solid last year and improved defensively as the year went on. At the very least his speed is an asset off the bench.
  12. That Luka Doncic/Anthony Davis trade is one of most shocking trades I’ve ever seen.
  13. I would’ve thought Koji would be over 100 also tbh. I forgot he had relatively low save totals despite his dominance. He was definitely my favorite closer we’ve had.
  14. The Dodgers now have the following starting pitchers under contraxt Yoshinobu Yamamoto Blake Snell Shohei Ohtani Tyler Glasnow Roki Sasaki Tony Gonsolin Dustin May The Highest career ERA of them is 3.49 by Glasnow. This isn’t even including some of the prospects they have such as Bobby Miller. this is also not including the expected eventual re-signing of Kershaw.
  15. It’s a real message by Nightendale. But He’s been know to stretch the truth/be wrong. Thought it was worth sharing regardless
  16. Yeah I just saw Passan tweet that said this they’re also abusing the system with all the deferred contracts and having Ohtani recruit other Japanese stars is like a cheat code.
  17. So the Dodgers win the World Series and then in the offseason accomplish the following : - Blake Snell - Michael Conforto - Re-signed Teoscar Hernandez - Re-signed Blake Treinen - Hyeseong Kim - Roki Sasaki - Tanner Scott - Re-signed Tommy Edman and the only thing they really lost was Walker Buehler and maybe Kike Hernandez?
  18. So the Dodgers now have essentially 5 ACE type pitchers, 3 MVPs in the lineup (along with other good players), just signed the best reliever in free agency and it sounds like guys like Kershaw want to re-sign just to sit on IL and pitch if injuries occur. This is really annoying to watch.
  19. If there was any doubt before the playoffs, I think it’s been proven that Jayden Daniels is the real deal.
  20. RIP. I absolutely loved him in the Major League movies.
  21. Wish him the best of luck. Very likable player and had an outstanding 2023. My only complaint is he came here at the end of his career as opposed to earlier and his dominance was short lived.
