    I would guess Bernardino. IIRC he has options and the signings of Wilson and Chapman as LHRP lead me to believe Bernardino is the odd man out. He also struggled to end the season so that doesn’t help his case.

    Catcher is the one position where I’m fine almost punting offense completely if they’re great defensively and with the pitching staff. Wong isn’t good enough offensively to make up for his pretty bad defense. I definitely wouldn’t be against trading him. However, with the current roster he is one of only guys who can hit right handed.

    Based on their recent history, and the impact of Ohtani, I have strong feeling he’s a Dodger.

    I highly doubt they actually sign Soto or even give him a competitive offer, but he is one of only players that’s actually hit free agency that I would ever give a ridiculous contract too. He is very very special and you usually don’t see guys like him in free agency, especially this young. He is a “blank check” type guy.

    I think Duran should at least be a finalist as well, he’s been awesome in left and center.

    The Renfroe trade isn’t even in the same stratosphere as the Mookie trade. That one is unforgivable. The Sale trade looks bad so far but not that bad

    6-6, 3 homers, 10 RBI, 2 stolen bases. literally absurd stat line. I have trouble doing that in MLB the show.

    I have MLB TV and during the summer late at night I’ll put on west coast games.. and they are probably among the worst in the league. I’ve made sure to manually switch to the opposing teams broadcast whenever I decide to put on a Mariners game.

    I’ve only been to Fenway about 5 times in my life but it is truly an awesome place. The atmosphere is the best I’ve been to in baseball. this year for Father’s Day, me and my girlfriend decided to get both our dads monster seat tickets as my dad is a huge Sox fan and her dad is a huge sports fan in general (Orioles fan, but he loved Fenway.) She’s not a big baseball fan but she even commented on how much the atmosphere for a Tuesday night game against Oakland felt like a college football game type atmosphere and the monster seats were an incredible viewing experience. They were pretty expensive, even against a s***** team, but it’s well worth doing at least once if you are a sports fan in general, but especially a Sox fan.

    He wasn’t good at SS but he was very solid at 2B. He has value defensively there.

    This was an awesome read. I’m obviously a little younger and I’m not going to lie, I had to google who the hell Phil Plantier was lol but this brought back some nostalgic moments. I at different points in life thought Jed Lowrie, Devern Hansack (lol), Manny Delcarmen, Daniel Bard and Blake Swihart were going to be stars.. I also have autographs of Ryan Lavarnway, Will Middlebrooks and Lars Anderson that as a teenager thought would be very valuable. I also at one point was an active card collector and the player I liked and decided to collect autographs of was Michael Bourn. He once signed a card for me in person and was nice to me and we had a nice talk. He didn’t really pan out quite like I hoped and I have like 25 autographed cards of him lol.

    Tyler O’Neill is a very odd player. I think we should make an attempt to retain him. If he stays healthy he very well could flirt with 40-45 homers. Health is main issue though and always has been

    I like this idea. It’s hard to tell if game thread interactions are down due to the new format or if we’re all just losing interest in a pretty mediocre Red Sox team. I’ll try and follow the game today but I’m more interested in the NFL today for betting/fantasy reasons.

    A lot of This is just flat out wrong. Duran is great defensively. Story is good defensively. Romy is at least average and Hamilton was actually very solid defensively at 2B.

    I like Castillo and would absolutely take him in Boston. I think he’s a bit underrated as well

    Yoshida can definitely hit, the problem is he is slow, can’t field and doesn’t have a ton of power, so he’s a bit limited as a player and I’m not sure how many teams are in need of a pure DH

    Devers owns Cole so much that it’s actually impacting Cole mentally. He looked legitimately scared every time Devers came up. Devers was 1-1 with a 2 run single, walk and HBP and even stole a base. It’s almost comical that now matter how much Devers is slumping or how good Cole is pitching, Devers is going to hit well against him.

    I didn’t say that he did, but he is still a valuable asset as is. He is 23 years old and a rookie. It’s not crazy to think he’ll improve and benching him right now makes no sense as it doesn’t help the team or his development.

    Aw yes, because Fox articles are always correct. Fox once published an article calling the Red Sox racist because their team looked “very Caucasian” after trading Manny Ramirez.

    Because he’s 35, and most 35 year old outfielders whose best assets are speed and defense, tend to decline as they get older. Are you really hating on a guy who won an ALCS MVP and made some of the greatest catches we’ve ever seen in center field? Alright then. Rafaela is only 23, and hitting bottom of the order and is an outstanding defender in center, benching him right now does absolutely nothing to help his plate discipline or make him better in the long run. He has all 5 tools, and if he puts it all together the sky is the limit. If he doesn’t? We have a gold glove center fielder who bats near bottom of the order and comes up with timely hits quite often. He is nowhere near the biggest issue on the team, nor should they bench him.

    Also JBJ Is like 35. He’s just old and washed in baseball years. He was a very solid player in his prime.
