    Is Breslow only allowed to sign pitchers who’ve had major injuries? What is the deal with this? It’s almost comical at this point

    Rest in Peace Rickey. I unfortunately was too young to witness his prime and my only memories of him playing were early 2000s, but I’ve watched many documentaries and YouTube videos about him. He had a special kind of speed, talent, cockiness and swagger to the way he played. We truly lost a great player

    If this is a deal for depth purposes and they are still going after Burnes or another healthy pitcher who is good via FA or trade, I like this signing. If they’re signing ANOTHER guy coming off a major injury and expected him to make a big impact, I’m not a huge fan, at least for the 2025 season. The contract could be a bargain in 2026.

    I highly doubt Toronto would trade him in division. In division trades are rare, and when they involved a young star, they are almost non existent. Also, if they did trade for Vladdy, Casas would absolutely be sent to Toronto in the trade.

    I’m not betting on that happening, but we also have no reason to believe Fried will all of a sudden just suck 3 years into the deal. He’s been very good and consistent his entire career.

    And in 3 years Montgomery and Teel could be multi time all stars. I just worry about Crotchet’s 2nd half and liked Fried more due to his proven track record and no prospects attached.

    I would prefer if Criswell wasn’t an option to start at all. He should be nothing more than a depth piece, regardless of if Buehler is signed or not.

    Yeah but the difference is Crotchet costs prospects and is going to demand a lot of money. Fried just costs money. Fried is older, yes, but also a lot more proven.

    I’m kinda 50/50 on this. I like getting Crotchet and like keeping Mayer. Anthony and Campbell. There was rumors that White Sox wouldn’t move him without getting Anthony and I was absolutely against that. The downside is we lose Teel at a position we’re extremely thin at, lose other prospects and still have a lot of question marks in the rotation and I would have much rather just paid Fried and kept prospects or attempted to do both. Crotchet is also going to demand a lot of money in an extension. We’ll see on this one

    I cannot wait to hear how “close” the Red Sox were to signing him and how much interest they had before they got outbid by the Giants or Blue Jays!

    This is opposite of what I want the Sox to sign. I want a healthy, legit workhorse, not another injury prone guy coming off a bad season.

    Not sure how real the interest the Sox had in him was, but another big name off the board. Willy Adames to Giants. 7 years $182 million.

    Not sure if Arizona State will win a playoff game but I love watching Cam Skattebo play. Dude is such a beast

    Yeah that’s fair. She went to HS in Maryland and is friends with a girl I work so she’d be around a decent amount and still stops by sometimes during her breaks. I’ve enjoyed getting to know her over the past few years. . I know she does a lot of like dancing trend content and stuff but I mainly follow her socials for the experiences she has. I remember watching her stories and seeing her interview Justin Jefferson on like a Tuesday and one time at work she faced time Joey Porter Jr and let one of the girls I work with whose a Steelers fan talk to him which was cool.

    That is my thought process as well. We have so much OF talent if we sign Soto that it gives us a lot of options in the trade market with Abreu, Rafaela, Anthony, or even Duran (I really want to keep him.) Eventually something has to give and some of the prospects have to be traded, there isn’t enough room for them all. Even if they all reach their ceilings I’m not sure we ever find a Juan Soto in our system. He’s very special

    I think with the financially and prospect flexibility the team has now, combined with Juan Sotos skill set and age, this is a rare time where giving a long term contract has a very good chance of being worth to. I know Soto doesn’t “guarantee” a World Series but having him on your side and not on the Yankees definitely gives you a better chance, especially with how good he’s been in the playoffs in his limited time. He’s already played in two World Series and won 1 as a main contributor.

    I mean I get that, but acquiring a guy like Soto without giving up prospects and maintaining an elite farm system with many young MLB players is a great start. It opens the door to a lot of trade possibilities and having Soto a core piece is about as good as you can hope for.

    Yes. I wasn’t sure how popular she was outside of Maryland/Pennsylvania. Shes really living the dream, but I’m happy for her. She’s always been super nice, especially to the HS/college girls I work with who are obsessed with the lifestyle she’s living.

    I have an influencer friend who’s a senior at Penn state and whenever she posts on Snapchat I always think about how awesome the atmosphere there looks. Definitely a place I’d love to watch a game.

    Which 3 free agents do you have in mind that’s realistic and as consistent as Soto? He’s one of only guys to ever hit free agency who’s this good and this young. It’s also a bonus if it takes him away from the Yankees.
