  1. Age: 21 Born: April 17, 1984 Salem, OR Height: 6-0 Weight: 185 Bats: Both Throws: Right Drafted: 1st round, 2005 How Acquired: Draft College: Stanford High School: North Salem HS ETA: 2008 Scouting Report: Excellent fielder with a strong arm and above average range. Above average speed on the basepaths with great power for a middle infielder. Hits equally from both sides of the plate. Smart and athletic. Good power numbers in college, 17 in '04, and 14 in '05. He gets on base a ton too, he walked more then Pedoria did in college.
  2. Ellsbury went 0-2 in his debut with 2 BB's.
  3. Age: 21 Born: September 11, 1983 Madras, OR Height: 6-1 Weight: 190 Bats: Left Throws: Left Drafted: 1st round, 2005 How Acquired: Draft College: Oregon State High School: Madras (OR) ETA: 2008 Scouting Report: Ellsbury was on of the best players in the NCAA in 2005. He is very fast, plays excellent defense, and has shown a great ability to get on base. Decent gap power for a centerfielder who projects as a lead-off hitter. Has often been compared to Johnny Damon. Also said to be a team leader. I like the Damon comparsion, but this guy is much faster then Damon.
  4. I'll do updates on Jacoby Elsberry and Jed Lowrie
  5. This team is way too talented to fall that flat. They won't fall out of the playoff race at all.
  6. Jon Valentin is on the Dale & Holley show, and both him and Dale Arnold project him to be our starting 2nd basemen on Aug. 15. I agree with this predictions.
  7. Some prospects are years away, but others (Papelbon, Declarmen, Alvarez, and Lester) should be ready now.
  8. I think your mom's slow fastball might baffle a hitter looking for something quicker. Embree's "slider" is just a fastball at 80 mph.
  9. You're absoulety right, even if the 3 kids fail, I'll still give them credit for trying. Anyone is better then Embree right now.
  10. he was unsignable for a 10th round pick, and Mr. Duqutte was in charge.
  11. Keep him in the minors for another year, then move him to CF in '07.
  12. Rogers didn't deserve to be arrested, if they arrested everyone who punched someone, 90 % of the population would be in jail.
  13. I got an idea, IF we get Soriano, we have him play 2nd base the rest of the year. Then in 2006, we call up Pedrioa to play 2nd, and then move Soriano to CF to take over for Damon. Thoughts?
  14. They'd want one of the prospects, the Red Sox refuse to give up. For everyone's information, those prospects are 1. Hanley Ramriez 2. Dustin Pedoria 3. Jon Papelbon 4. Jon Lester 5. Anibal Sanchez
  15. No, but his track record indicates that he doesn't strike out. Cora struck out 41 times last year, Bellhorn probably struck out 41 times in April.
  16. OK, Bellhorn can be the media whipping boy, but's your being a f***ing moron if you think Francona is this team's problem. Tito doesn't have the skills to be a manager? I don't think so either, cause only bad managers win WS rings. Schilling needs to be on the mound, he thrives in those situations. I think he just needs some time to pitch in the bullpen.
  17. I'd say Mark Loretta, because he has much more pop in his bat than Eckstein, but yes his energy is almost an Eckstein clone
  18. I decided to look at Bellhorn's last 3 AB's in late games, I only looked at losses, cause I can't fault wins. 5. 6th inning Mussina (NYY) strikes out Bellhorn with two on, and one out. 7/14 4. 8th inning Benoit (TEX) strikes out Bellhorn with two on (1st and 3rd) with two out. 7/4 3. 9th inning Batistia (TOR) gets Bellhorn to pop out with the bases loaded, and 1 out. 7/3
  19. This guy is a flat out dirt dog, he'd put that ball in play in the 7th, and score the run. Bellhorn strikes out way, way too much, and never comes up with a big hit. Bellhorn has no range, he only makes the routine plays. Pedroia has walked 59 times, and has struck out 39 times. He's struck out 39 times in 120 minor league games. Bellhorn would probably reach that in 13 games. Not to mention the fact that this guy is near flawless with the glove, he's got great range, and makes all the plays. This guy walks more than Bellhorn, he strikes out far fewer times then Blowhorn, and he's better with the glove. We can ease Pedroia into the lineup batting him 9th (though he'll be a great #2 hitter).
  20. He pitches for the A's, and he is rehabbing in the minors due to his back surgery.
  21. I'll bet when you seem him pitch you'll recognize him. His knuckles literally scrape the dirt when he pitches. As for if he's good or not, he gets righties out very well, but struggles against lefties. He'll be better than Mantei.
  22. The only ones speaking up are Johnny Damon, and Kevin Millar. Johnny has become a primadonna media whore. That's ok if you're intellegent, but Johnny couldn't spell Damon if he was given the D-A-M-O. He's a great player, but let's call a spade a spade. Millar knows he's gone, and he's going to bitch and bitch until he's shipped out of town for a chunk of corn in the Astros crap. This clubhouse isn't divided, it's overblown by the media, because two "idiots" need to get camera time.
  23. I don't see Stern hitting .320 in a season.
  24. Yep it is, probably the greatest comedy movie I've ever seen. Check these out http://imdb.com/title/tt0307987/quotes
  25. Shoppach won't be a major contribuitor for the Red Sox at all. With 'Tek being here for 4 more years, and Mirabelli two more, Shoppach is easily the most expandable player in the Red Sox system. Youkillis might be our 3rd basemen next year, but the fact he only has 61 AB's this year might be an indication of what the Red Sox think of him.
