  1. Yeah, Mike Williams was an All Star in 2003. You have to admit when Clement was out there last night, that you didn't feel comfortable with him. Wells hasn't lost since May 18th(other than then that stupid ass Baltimore game). Wells walks zero batters, he is the biggest big game pitcher on our staff. (other than Schilling) Since June 3rd his ERA is 3.52, Clement's? 6.28. Clements ERA since May 11th has gone up from 3.06 to 4.30. Wells has seen his go from 6.75 to 4.59. Now, I'm not saying that Clement is a bad pitcher, I agree with statement that when Clement's on he's lights out, but don't you remember when Wells was on his best game? He twirled that one hitter against the Reds. I like Clement, but feel way more comfortable with Wells on the mound.
  2. Actually we were in Boston on vaction, so I wasn't anywhere near my office. Considering the profit line, if I were to work 4 hours which equals $40, taxes make it $37. I bought those Grandstand seats for 44 dollars, on ebay they were offering the same tickets for 125 dollars per seat. 125-44= $81 dollars saved Rather then $37 saved.
  3. I waited in line for a Phillies game for about 3 hours, and got 4, 44 dollar tickets in the grandstand seats. You can get tickets together, but you have to 4 hours before the game.
  4. The Marlins won't trade the best availble starter, and a person with ace potential for a starter and a mid level prospect. They'll want a starter and two elite prospects, but they want Lowell contract of their hands so they can have flexiblity.
  5. Wow, you're offened easily. I simply asked a question on who would be the better postseason starter.
  6. Would you go with David Wells or Tim Wakefield in a game 1 of a playoff series?
  7. They'll try to trade him, but if they don't they'll want Hanley + Papelbon, which won't happen.
  8. I guess it's a little bit past the halfway mark of the season, so I wanted to see what you all thought our best starter was. I think our best starter right now, and who I'd pitch in an important game is without question David Wells. Has anyone realized that he probably is the best starter on our staff?
  9. This Burnett deal will not happen, I'm saying it right now. If they make us take Lowell, we still have to give up one of our "Fab Five" if we don't take Lowell the deal's dead. Just forget about it.
  10. I'm meant with the wheels. Hanley will only be a little better offensively (more power, better OBP)
  11. We might see him in Greenville soon, if Corlesetti continues to hit (there's another Dustin Pedoria for you).
  12. He'll never be back, he's had a problem with drugs ever since he was 18. He was supposed to be the left handed Manny Ramirez coming out of HS, but sadly he's career waned off. I'm speculating, but imagine that Devil Ray lineup if Hamilton got to his potiental Crawford, Baldelli, Upton, Young, Hamliton, Huff, and Cantu. That would one incredibly good lineup.
  13. Well not right now, I think Cano will be a great player too. He has incredible balance on his stance, which is why he'll hit a lot of doubles, and might be able to hit 20 HR's in Yankee stadium. Hanley, however, makes Cano look like Jason Giambi, and in the field he makes Cano look like Chuck Knoblauch. He'll be a good player for many years to come.
  14. Alvarez is not a great prospect, he's a four or five starter on a competive franchise. Hanley will be an exceptional player, he will be way better then Robinson Cano. He hits for better power, and fields better. Dinardo is not a prospect anymore, he is a post-prospect, and will only be an average to above average lefty reliever. The only Red Sox prospects that are not going to be traded are Jon Lester, Jon Papelbon, Hanley Ramriez, Dustin Pedoria, and Anibal Sanchez. Those are our elite prospects, by far. Kelly Shoppach and Moss are in the next category, and then their is a major dropoff. Now I know a Yankee fan will see that and say their system is better, but the Red Sox have a 4 or 5 more prospects that will be pretty good from this year's draft. But they aren't proven yet, but some can be very good.
  15. I meant that Melky is not a good CF not right now, but he could be a good one someday. He's quick which is good for him, he really reminds me of a young Bernie Williams w/o the power. Caberra probably could hit about 10-15 HR's, and swipe some bags.
  16. Problems that stand in the way 1. John Henry wants the city to help pay for the ballpark 2. Where are you going to put it? 3. The proposed site is on a residental area, which would cost the team millions to buy them out. Other than that, I agree with you that a new Fenway would help the fans, and team out.
  17. Nope I'm not, Bernie Williams is a bad centerfielder, Melky Caberra is a bad centerfielder. I'm not saying Redman is a gold glover, he's just average.
  18. Redman is an average center fielder defensively, and he can swipe some bases. He'd be an okay solution, he can catch the ball, and could bat 9th.
  19. Even though, I don't agree with you often, I will here. Delucci is a great leadoff guy for the Rangers, and unless they got some pitchers in return I doubt Texas would make a move.
  20. Elsbury went 2-4 last night Season Line: .296/.457/.481/.938 (7/2 BB/K Ratio) 6 SB's 2 XBH 1 HR 6 RBI's
  21. Shoppach has hit 4 HR's in his last 3 games, probably rocketing his trade value from what is was.
  22. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/050721&num=5 Read this, it's worth it.
  23. I wanted to be harsh, but not too harsh, mainly because that annoys the hell out of me when people correct that.
  24. Yup, and a great movie that was. The guy who posted above you is probably about 7
  25. Ken Harrelson kicks ass, I love watching White Sox games.
