  1. I like this guy, finally someone giving some props to Tito.
  2. Edgar Renteria is a terrfic athelte, what makes you think he can't make the transation? No offense? Edgar Renteria hit .333 two years ago, and is hitting .280 right now. I wasn't saying he WILL be our CF next year, I was saying it MIGHT be a possiblity, because Renteria has said he'd change postions for Hanley so he'd be up in Boston. We can't send Stern back, we'd have to offer him back to the Braves because Stern is a Rule V pick.
  3. You are correct once again, the Sox might go after a Ron Villone, because I think their convinced that Schilling or Timlin can get the job done in the back end of the bullpen. I don't see them grabbing Guardado because he stands to lose money if he agrees to a deal.
  4. Forget getting Tejada, he's making 300 K for the next 3 years, and the Phillies hold his rights for 6 years.
  5. Declarmen is a hometown kid born in the Massachusetts area, and is going through a conversion into the bullpen. After a shaky start he's dominated as late, and got the call up to Pawtucket. He features a 94 to 97 mph fastball, and a deadly curveball. He's had Tommy John surgery a year ago. I could see him being a dominant relief pitcher with those two pitches, and he could ultimately help the Sox this year. Alvarez is a lanky lefthander, who could be a good addition to a staff at the backend. He throws an excellent changeup, and a decent curveball. He also has tremendous control. His weakness is if he's off he's going to get hit very hard. He tops out at about 88 mph.
  6. Bad Santa is the funniest movie I've ever seen, if you haven't seen that stop everything and go see it.
  7. It's possible, but can Stern play everyday? I think he can, but I see the Sox putting Hanley Ramriez or Edgar Renteria (yes, him) in CF next year.
  8. Kapler's been deactivated from the Japanese team, and hasn't played in a month. He's currently batting .154, but I do see Kapler returning to the Sox soon. The Payton situation was resolved when he snapped on Tito after losing an at bat in Texas, his luggage was removed from the plane, and he was DFA the next day. I'm sure that was the final straw.
  9. Good Numbers from Bradford, not counting '04 2000 Chicago White Sox 1 0 1.98 2001 Oakland Athletics 2 1 2.70 2002 Oakland Athletics 4 2 3.11 2003 Oakland Athletics 7 4 3.04
  10. He gets RH out, so he can be effective against RH batters with Myers getting lefties. As for the risk factor, it seems the only thing we can take for Payton.
  11. Yep, were getting Chad Bradford, check it out on espn.com/mlb
  12. It should be 1 IP and 0 ER, the SS made an error, which led to a run.
  13. Schilling pitched okay, he got two K's. Guy on first reached on a hit.
  14. He can't be any worse than Vazquez can he?
  15. Good Start to his AAA career, 2 IP's 5 K's
  16. Another excellent point
  17. Great point, I agree with you 100%, his slugging is around .373 which is awfully pathetic for a 1B. Jon Olerud told Gammons that he feels like the 2001 Olerud, which bodes good for the Red Sox. Side Note: What the f*** are we going to get for Millar, he couldn't net us a used condom from Micheal Jackson. I heard we looked into a deal from the 'Stros but they wouldn't give up anything, and now they wouldn't even give up that nobody, because Berkman is playing 1st.
  18. Peter Gammons on WEEI, reported that Jay Payton might be traded to the A's, or the Dodgers. RemDawg annoucned that Payton had already been traded in a "hand shake" deal for a player on the DL.
  19. Youkillis will be a good player, but he won't be an outstanding player. He'll hit around .275 with an OBP of about .380. Youkillis might hit 20 HR's, but the safe bet is around 15. I'd keep him, but don't be stunned when he isn't hitting .370 with 50 HR's.
  20. I didn't think the Phillies are selling right now, but if they did it would certianly require Kevin Youkillis, who could be the Phillies 3B of the future, but problem with that is he most likely would be the Red Sox 3B next year. The Red Sox would probably offer Kelly Shoppach, Manny Declarmen, and doubtfully Jon Lester. The third player might be an Abe Alvarez? So it would give the Phillies a catcher, a potential elite setup man, and a 4th to 5th starter. But trading Wagner would give the Phillies a ton of backlash in the press, so I don't think they'd move Wagner.
  21. Terry Francona on WEEI's Dale and Holley announced that Schilling will pitch out of the bullpen after the all star break. Schilling also volunteered to close if the team needed him to do that. http://www.rotoworld.com/includes/topblurbs.asp?sport=MLB Thoughts?
  22. You think booing him is going to help him? The guy's hurt physically and mentally, he needs to get back, and doesn't need people to give up on him. We need Foulke to be Foulke, and I fully expect him to be back.
  23. Lay off Keith Foulke, this guy along with Ortiz, put this team on his back during the ALCS, he brought this team a championship, so he should not be booed with his 0.64 ERA during the post season
  24. Really? Is Bret Boone better then Robinson Cano? Please don't tell me you were serious when you said this, cause this is the worst idea I've ever read. And for you Bellhorn bashers Boone is a -3 FRAA (which means he is below average in the field) OPS is a paltry .685 Bellhorn is a 0 FRAA (which means he is average) Let's also remember that Renteria would suffer because he'd have to get used to a new DP partner He's OBP is better at .722 Plus his salary is a lot lower
  25. Oh just shut the f*** up, do you really believe a team can dominate 162 games? Teams have those days 'cept the Red Sox crappy games come a lot less often then the Yankees.
