Was he even on the blueprint?

They had players on the blueprint that have been out of the organization for over a year.

and so was Vaughn Grissom.  Meanwhile Wilson Contreras, Adley Rutchmen, and Ranger Saurez were not.  I think the list was outdated.

Or a harbinger of a busy off-season to come…

Payroll is 27.48% under budget

I dont hate it, but Mead would start at 3b and Durbin would be a super sub. And you would use some of that 27.48% under budget on maybe a good reliever and a middle road starter.

My least favorite parts:

1. Houck as SP3

2. Ward as OF4

3. 32M plus Bello for a 34 year old DH that hasn't OPS'd over 800 the last 2 seasons (declining HR totals in a HR park are cause for concern)

Agreed: Houck as SP6 or RP3-4 is fine.

I think we need to keep Bello- warts and all.

Houck has a chance to be an elite RP. He's had too many health issues to push him forward as a SP.

I'd be fine making him the co-8th/9th inning guy with Whitlock with a chance to become the closer.

If he can pitch like 2025, he has the stuff to be a good one.

My concern is the lack of rotation depth.

1. I wouldn’t concern of the SP rankings.  I was just filling in slots.

2. Stop knocking Ward.  He is the long term savior and short term Eli White placeholder

3. Like or dislike Teoscar, I tried to limit myself to actual attainable players and not pipe dreams like Elly De La Cruz.  And his StatCast is somewhat comparable to Arozarena, but his contract will be notably shorter,

Bello is a high price, but it was fair on BTV.  Hernandez will definitely be available, but the price might depend on the new CBA…
