Just about what I've been saying.

I'm going on teh assumption we will be out of it in mid to late July.

Even then, I'd like Willson for 2027 and maybe 2028, so I'm not offering him for the best offer- like it or not.

I would do that for Gray, Chapman and IKF

same page.  Id take the most I can get for Gray, Chapman, IKF....If the most I can get is mediocre or even a "merely good" return for Contreras, I keep him.  You have to force me to trade Contreras with an offer I cant refuse.  With Gray, Chapman, and IKF - im willing to negotiate.

Im sure teams would be lining up to try to add a modestly priced .900 OPS bat to this team and next years.  But Im not sure they are willing to give me what I want....And it starts with their top prospect.

ANd then I look to move that prospect in the offseason.

Throw '28 in there too probably. Where's the hitting coming from?

Not at all.

I'm not for trading Contreras for that reason, unless we get better value or equal value with more control years.

I'm not even 100% done with 2026....YET

that's why i don't want to trade him (or Abreu), because they're the only ones contributing to the offense and why i question why Moon wants to get rid of him.

I'm not sure where you read I want to trade Willson. I don't.

I said I'd take equal value with longer control years. You wouldn't?

I said I'd take greater return value. You wouldn't?

Why not?

I'm close, but trades rarely happen in June, so I'll wait to see what things look like in July.

Also, the AL sucks like never before.

If the deadline was today, I'd trade every player not controlled through 2027 plus Duran.

I'd listen to offers on 2-3 year players.

I'd look at aging or overpaid players, of course, but doubt anyone will be calling about Story and Yoshida.

What is your selling price and how do you tell Craig  you’re rejecting his trade?

Im not worried about Contreras.  Players like him rarely get moved at the deadline, and the only team where he’s an obvious fit is a team that just might become sellers because, well, that’s what they know.

Plus you can always trade Contreras at the 2027 deadline if things aren’t going so well next year…

Or move Willson whenever Casas returns as the fleet footed. nimble, ball crushing 1Bman we know he is

I say go all the way to 2040.  Not like we have any hitting lined up before then!

To tender of to non-tender?  If soxprospects.com is right and Casas still has three options left, no brainer to tender him…

I'd keep him because they have him for '27 with a club option for '28.

Gray is a goner though.

does anyone actually think 2027 will be better even if there is baseball.  I for one could care less if there is baseball in 2027 as i have actually watched about 3-4 Sox games this year. I could care less about the Sox as you may tell from my absence from here for the most part. I have been a sox fan for close to 50 years but does JH actually care if I have lost interest in this team.  I doubt it.
