Early in Boston is still a prospect?

But Campbell in Woo is no longer a prospect? And what does that say for his prospects...

It's based on eligibility. Early is at 24.2 IP and less than 45 days. Campbell is at 229 AB's and more than 45 days.

Rookie status is exhausted once a player: (1) has more than 130 at-bats in the majors; (2) has pitched more than 50 innings in the majors; or (3) has been on an active major league roster for more than 45 days (not including time on the injured list).

Thanks, I didn't realize it's based on days in the MLB.

So in order to be considered a prospect, a guy has to still be eligible to win Rookie of the Year in the majors.

In other words, Sogard and Eaton are no longer prospects, even though they are better bets than Arias this year to play in Boston.

I'd also say if any position player on the list makes it to Boston this season it will Braiden Ward at #40... unless Romero rakes and there are so many injuries to infielders in Boston and Woo he gets the call.

Ward has one big league skill that can help a team win right now, and a pennant contender might be willing to trade for him, rather than someone like Campbell, who currently has none.

My guess is Paez is slotted in right behind Bastardo.

He was 21st, last fall, and we've traded away 7 prospects that were higher than he was.

We added #10 Bennet and #19 Samaniego.

I'm thinking maybe a little above #21 Bastardo.

It is rather amazing how few top everyday prospects are near MLB ready. We have some decent ML depth in AAA, but all are graduates or AAAA types.

Romero & Ward with maybe Castro in between those two is all there is.

AA has....

2. Arias

22. Taylor

33. Bleis

42. Alcantara

Uberstine was added to the 26.

It looks like soxprospects.com bounced #58 Patton from the top 60 to slot Paez #22.

Adding Bastardo #21 and Paez #22 further unbalances the pitcher vs everyday player make up of the rankings.

Pitcher rankings: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 (7 of top 10)

13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22 (13 of top 22)

24, 25, 26, 29, 31 (18 of top 31)

33, 36, 38, 42, 45, 46, 47, 49 (26 of 49)

55, 57, 58, 59, 60 (31 out of 60 looks balanced, but...)

No inside information, just a hunch. Figured that they were slightly higher on Bastardo as his stuff ticked up this spring and Paez looked more or less the same. Paez still has a starter profile and is probably a higher ceiling than Mullins (at least in how they view it currently).

Mullins has stuck around 22-23, but when you factor in that the rankings lost 7 players to trades above him (4 Perales, 6 Garcia, 8 Clarke, 10 Fajardo, 12 Sandlin, 18 Drohan and 20 Travieso) and saw bigger drops by Bleis and Cespedes, who were above Mullins for most of 2025, his drop from 22 to 24 is pretty significant.

The guy is 26 and still in AA, so I guess it shouldn't be surprising, but he keeps putting up very nice numbers.

He's putting up nice numbers because he's old for the level, I guess.

Why is he not with WOO?

Let him find success as a starter and then promote him? IDK. I guess they are using kid gloves due to his injury risk.
