Bello was not good last night but he is far from a bust. 11-9. 3.35 ERA. For 9 million a year. That's cheap for a starting pitcher. He is still very young.

I thought he would be better than that. He’s too inconsistent. I am talking about a top 2 starter. He’s not that.

Duran pops out to left side again. foul even. Oh wait a winning Yankee player gives up his life to catch a ball

Never see that urgency and energy from Sox

Very young. very immature. very undereducated. very emotional

Brayan is very not a winner under pressure

The reality is that  5 run inning. can overcome this deficit.

On the other hand. this horse crap should show Breslow what he needs to do over the next 5 months

This "horse crap" made it to the postseason despite significant injuries.  And with Crochet on the mound they won game 1 two night ago.  With Bello lasting just 2.1 lousy innings, they had a chance to win last night. Tonight Schlittler has dominated the Sox weak hitting.

This is not on Cora.  But some fans think every loss means someone needs to be blamed and probably fired.  Certainly no credit to the opposing team.  The Sox either win or gave the game away.  No third option…

Too true.

The sad part tonight is that so called professional hitters cannot scratch out a run or two over 7 innings in a 4-0 game.  Schlitter may be good but the Sox seem like they quit.

They had him at 38 pitches after 2 innings and just now asswipebAbreu Ks on the 100th after a full 7.

If Schlitter was throwing all strikes someone should have hit a couple, but Abreu needed rehab games

He’s been better than good, he’s been fantastic.  His fastball was located well, his secondary stuff was excellent and located.  He may never throw a game this good the rest of his career, but I’m betting he will. He’d have shut down any lineup in the majors tonight.

Bello is a # 3-4 SP. We need a #2 SP. Same as we needed and didn’t get at the TD.

Fried, Rodon, Schlitler. 3 times as many as the Sox.

Schlitter is now a proven Yankee starter ?? Yanks lost Cole, Schmidt, Gil, Lieter and Loasiga.  So Bello and Early don’t count but schlitter does?

Let’s see how he does against a team that can hit the baseball

Max, I enjoy your takes but I am referring to how they played and hit in games that mattered .  Yes injuries were unfortunate but it doesn't change weak efforts when winners find a way as do losers

If you're satisfied dropping 2 straight elimination games then enjoy the rest of your life. This group could have done something special. although the pitching staff shortages would have killed them in ALDS

Watch the video from the third base camera. Eaton was past third as Chisholm was starting his throw. He would have scored even if the throw wasn't dropped. With two outs, you have to be agressive there. Make the defense make a play. Hudson is not a good third base coach. Blew the game earlier this season against the O's by not sending Eaton in 11th. Apparently he doesn't like sending their fastest runner.

But Hudson had already thrown up his stop sign!!! When Hudson was stopping him, Chisholm still had the ball! At that point, he didn’t know Chisholm was going to throw or just hold on for a second.  If Chisholm doesn’t try for Yoshida - hardly uncommon on that type of play - Eaton is DEAD at the plate.

Hudson didnt have the luxury you have had of reviewing that replay multiple times to make a decision.  He had a second, msybe less.  And when he made it, he had no way of knowing what Chisholm was going to do.  With Story coming up, I get why he held him and say it was the smart move…

Right now the Sox have one good pitcher. How dense are you?

Not horse crap. Just mediocre. But better than the last few years. I expect much better next year.

To be fair, Early was decent enough tonight.  He was let down by some less than stellar defense, some lucky placed hits and had the misfortune of facing a guy at the absolute top of his game.

He’s never going to be a top of the rotation guy but he can be a solid #3.  If I had to give a comparison, Bill Lee comes to mind (Early throws harder, but the other stuff is similar).

Ever read “The Peter Principle”? This team rose to its level of incompetence. They could be a chapter in that book. They did what they could with what they had. Can’t be too disappointed.

He pitched like a #2 for a month or so but I agree, he is more of a #3 or #4.

Don’t mind losing but put up a fight.  This team quit by the fourth inning.  Zero leadership or pride.  Laid down after the fourth inning of s***ing themselves defensively.  Kudos to Chappy Whit and Crochet.   I can’t find one kudos offensively all season   Not one
