I’m saying that every team has injuries they need to deal with. The Yankmees lost Cole for the entire season and they are right on the heels of the Jays for the AL pennant. Judge also missed time and can barely reach the infield from RF.
Breslow knew we had injuries. What did he do to address them?

Judge is playing and putting up MVP numbers.  How is that the same?  Cole went down before the season, giving much more time to fill his void.  Do you know how 40 man rosters work?

During the season, the Sox lost Casas, Mayer, Abreu and Anthony and all are still out.  The players you’re complaining about are their replacements.  Bregman was looking like an MVP candidate before his injury and a league—average player since.  No one is hitting except Duran, the same guy you keep complaining thr Sox didn’t trade away…

Interesting note that Story can actually opt out after season end

Combined with Bregman's opt out. and Mayer's lack of availability  '26 could be a new set of issues

Story is not opting out.

Lowe. Wong , and Hammie to save us in the 9th.

Feeling better already.  Seriously,  another Fenway game with little hitting

Judge missed time. Cole missed the entire season. I don’t want to go down the list of injuries for every team. Everyone has injuries. If we had a significant injury (and we did) what did our GM do to address it?

Since scoring 6 runs in one inning off Will Warren, the Sox have scored 9 runs in their last 36 innings…

Judge has missed 10 games this year and 14 in the last two years combined.  He might not be the best example for a team overcoming injuries…

Based on what I've been seeing, I see the Sox finishing the season at 3-6. The evidence just points that way

At best. And no playoff games. Again. It’s what this franchise is: bums and chokers.

Judge is a bad argument.  When he misses time, that team is terrible….

Oh-so injuries to other teams don’t count? Only Flops injuries are responsible for us stinking?

Injuries are just an excuse. Fact is, this team has historically flopped over and over again. It’s their personality. No sense denying it.

I looked up Judge and edited that post.

Judge has missed 10 games this year, probably not all due to injury.  He missed 4 games last year.

So your argument is the Yankees have been depleted by injuries because Judge missed 14 games in two seasons?

Again, I am not going to go down the list of injuries for every team. That information is available to you if you’re interested. Injuries are an excuse that is convenient for people who like to excuse poor performances. Bregman isn’t injured now, is he? He is still stinking. So is Gonzalez. And Rafaela? Is he injured? These guys are just sucking. Maybe if they didn’t suck we would have made the playoffs. Now that seems very unlikely. Fact is, performing well is up to the players who are playing. The bums we are trotting out there just aren’t doing their jobs.

Btw, I looked at your link. Seems two teams right in there (Astros and Dodgers) are worse off than us and the Jays are very close-yet they lead the division.

Not all teams are injured equally.

I'll assist since I know the Yankees' injuries this year:

  1. Gerrit Cole - out for season
  2. Luis Gil - missed first 3 months
  3. Clarke Schmidt - pitched 2 1/2 months, then out for season
  4. Giancarlo Stanton - missed first 2 1/2 months of season
  5. Jake Cousins - out for season
  6. Jazz Chisholm - missed 1 month
  7. Fernando Cruz - missed 2 months
  8. Jonathan Loaisaga - pitched 2 months, then out for season
  9. Oswaldo Cabrera - played 1 1/2 months, then out for season
  10. Ryan Yarbrough - missed 2 1/2 months
  11. Aaron Judge - missed 2 weeks
  12. Mark Leiter - missed 1 month
  13. Luke Weaver - missed 3 weeks
  14. Austin Slater - missed 1 month

Also DJL and Stroman missed a bunch of time, but that was probably a positive.

The Sox starters are faltering down the stretch, the bullpen doesn’t have enough depth behind Whitlock and Chapman, combined with an depressingly weak lineup full of below replacement level players, they are destined to miss the playoffs.

We face a RHP, today and it's a day after night game, so I'm going with Wong as the catcher. He is also belo's binky.

1. Duran

2. Story

3, Bregman

4. Yoshida

5. Lowe

6. Wong

7. DHam

8. Eaton

9. Rafaela

and how did that work out today?

Sorry, not looking good for anything but 3-6 over the last nine, unless they get lucky. 3-6 will not get it done

It will ! It will end a season that had periods of hope and potential .

Regrettably. the gas tank is dry. No excuses for  Bello or Gio and now Bregman not showing up.

The problem is not the injuries. The problem is that the guys who ARE in the lineup aren’t performing. Bregman. Gonzalez. Rafaela. Yoshida. Refsnider. To a lesser extent Narvaez. Etc

if you asked the manager and the players about why the team isn’t going to make the playoffs I doubt very much that they would excuse their performance by playing the injury card..

I won’t either.

3-6 if they’re lucky.
