I think the conventional wisdom for Fenway has been that you put your good fielder with speed in center and your good fielder with a cannon arm in right.

Cora was following conventional wisdom until he no longer had an MLB 2b to play.

Abreu is more than fine in CF, even if not worthy of the GG. He also has a plus arm. He's got 15 assists in the 220 or so games he's play in RF since 2024.

He gets good jumps and reads on balls hit to RF. Why mess with RF? It's one of our strengths.
