He traded 3 top tier prospects for Crotchet. It wasn’t like it was some sneaky move he made.

He also traded Chris Sale for Grissom, signed Buehler and Sandoval, who’ve been awesome finds. We also Can’t forget the awesome signing of Hendriks!

Meh.  As I've said ad nauseum, this Sox team's pitching has the same team ERA, 3.74, as the 2018 team, and is also ranked 8th in MLB, same as 2018.

The hitting has scored the 4th most runs in MLB and has the 5th best OPS.  The defense is pretty solid at catcher, in the outfield, and at 3b and SS.

They are now 5-5 playing four Division leaders in a little over 2 weeks--and leading the Astros 4-2 even the 11th game.

I have mentioned Giolito for Sale many times, but at the time most of us were ready to let Sale go after 5 straight seasons of mediocrity.  Right now Giolito is our 3d best starter and Sale is on the 60 day IL.

You guys keep examining those lousy trees and miss seeing the forest.

There is no reason he couldn’t have kept Sale and signed Giolito (who he literally paid a full season to not pitch last year).

Romy and Ref are lefty killers. To those who dislike platoons, take note!

My only issue is when Mayer comes back, I rather see the tandem of Refsnyder/Abreu-Anthony combo at DH. If you're not going to trade Abreu, you got to play him.

I have no use for Yoshida.

We are 10th in road OPS. Is that a tree that stands out in a forest?

Our offense is good, but it's not 4th or 5th best.

I completely agree.  To make it worse, The Sox paid Sale's salary last year when he won the Cy Young for the Braves.  When Breslow made that decision, it was his first shot at CBO.

That was then.  This is now.

Sale couldn’t stay on the field. He even apologized on his way out the door

Is Vaughn Grissom staying on the field a good thing?

RF: Abreu- Refsnyder

DH: Anthony

1B: Campbell- Romy (both RHBs)

2B: Mayer-Romy

or

RF: Abreu-Anthony

DH: Anthony-Refsnyder

1B: same as above

Yoshida's time expired for 2025, IMO, but as long as Mayer is out, he can DH v RHPs.

Recently he's been catching 4 games to Wong's 1.

And could be getting leg weary but still 2 months to go.   No help in sight, unless Wong can keep getting a few hits.

They probably need to go 3 games Narvaez and 2 games Wong.

Didn’t he pay majority of sales contract for Braves to take him?

$10M out of $27M- just about the same as Gio's contract.

If Mayer comes back.  Right now the mlb.com guy for the Sox says September at the earliest.

Ah yes, it’s always great to get a lead and have your bum pitcher walk the #8 hitter and fall behind the #9 guy

And what a catastrophe that proved to be--until the GIDP rubbed him out.
