I have a feeling that we’re done. Matz is it. That would say to me that Henry has the same opinion of this team I have-that they’re not worth wasting a trade of any of our prospects or players in a futile attempt to make them competitive.

But you're a premature evacuator.

Why did they virtually stand pat in '23 and '24? In '22, they didn't even do enough of a sell off.

If we want to talk about impact of trade that’s a different discussion, but saying we are done and only making 1 trade is an entirely different thing.

they’ll probably make 2 more trades, at least, by the end of the day

Blue Jays: Shane Bieber, Seranthony Domínguez
Tigers: RHPs Chris Paddack, Randy Dobnak, Kyle Finnegan, Paul Sewald
Astros: IF Ramón Urías

TOP AL WILD CARD COMPETITORS
Yankees: David Bednar, Ryan McMahon, Amed Rosario, Austin Slater
Red Sox: Steven Matz
Mariners: Josh Naylor, Eugenio Suarez, LHP Caleb Ferguson
Rangers: None

We  need to add more than 2-3 of these teams and add even with 2-3 more to be a top 3 team. Right now, we are losing ground to NYY, DET and certainly SEA.
We may be even with TOR & HOU and slightly ahead of TEX.

Maybe we end up with M Kelly & O'Hearn.

O'Hearn has average 20 Hrs (49 XBHs) per 162 gsm since 2023.

.796 OPS (125 OPS+) He kills RHPs (.874 in '25

Would that be enough?

None of which were impactful

Oh I’m sorry, I thought you meant they were making zero moves.

It would be an upgrade over Toro

A significant one.

Merrill Kelly would be a huge upgrade over TBD, our current 5th starter.

He's got a 3.22 ERA (133 ERA+) , 3.53 FIP, 1.057 WHIP and a very nice .624 OPS Against, this year. Those numbers are solid #3 numbers and better than many #2's.

Crochet

Giolito

Kelly

Bello

(Harrison/Fitts/Houck/Criswell could be upgraded, too.)

An O'Hearn & Romy platoon at 1B could be high .800's to .900ish.

O'Hearn to the Padres, you can cross that one off your wishlist

Padres have got their outfielder.

Maybe.

Laureano has been hot recently, but this will be his 6th in less than 3 seasons, and he’s not bouncing around like that because he’s always awesome…

I don't see the Padres getting another outfielder.

They can't have any prospects left for a start!

The Rangers did add LHRP Danny Coulombe, which is not nothing.  Has pluses and minuses compared to Matz.

Yankees also added Colorado RHRP Jake Bird

Astros also acquired OF Jesus Sánchez from Miami…

It wasn't really my wish list.

Mine is Joe Ryan and Soderstrom or maybe Wilson Contreras for Yoshida, Casas and cash

I thought I heard the Sox don’t like Salas

I don't think anyone likes him right now.

About an hour left. Nearly every other contender has made a significant move to improve and all the Flops have done is trade away a player they were going to lose anyway for a marginal RP. Fine with me. They don’t have the talent to do much this year anyway. But they should have been sellers.

Not for Duran, no…

Doesn’t have to be straight up, most deals aren’t.  I thought I read somewhere that the Sox specifically don’t like Salas

Literally almost the entire starting pitcher market is unmoved so far.

Well they now have 45 minutes to do it.

And likely will stay that way as far as the Flops are concerned.
