All good comments, but I'm definitely looking forward to the game.  When I was stationed at Fort Leavenworth, I used to go to several games each summer, 1986-89, at Royals stadium.  Nice ballpark, but it can get awfully hot.  One year I saw Bo Jackson play--absolutely worth the price of admission.  He was better at football than baseball, but should have stayed with baseball.  There was big money for a good diddley player, but Bo didn't know how to.

Back to my hobby horse--Devers defender.  To me it's criminal Breslow wants to move him from DH to 1b so that no-field no-hit Yoshida can DH.  If Devers had been able to play a bunch of games (and practices) at 1b during spring training, that would have been OK.   The neat thing about Devers at DH is that he is at less risk of getting injured, plus he's a pretty good hitter.

Yoshida can't hit? I didn't know that.

Career OPS .775.  Given that he can't field, cost $105M for 5 years, and has missed a bunch of games, I'd classify him as subpar.

Maybe the plan for DH (when Raffy finally plays 1B) isn't Yoshida, but to bring up Anthony.

The Roman Candle can ease into the majors by initially just focusing on hitting. Then when he gets some reps in the outfield, the Sox can use the DH to rotate days off for each outfielder, plus Devers.

The Red Sox could also use this system for the infield, if they bring up Mayer instead. There's no doubt Marcelo could play 2B, SS and 3B when each of Campbell, Story and Bregman takes a turn at DH.

We'll see. Lorenzen is hittable. Bobby Witt is unstoppable.

Michael Lorenzen has been efficient with only 29 pitches while facing the minimum nine batters through three innings.

Dobbins is rising in the Sox pitching picture.  This is a guy who can pitch with 2 outs and 2 strikes , completing the inning with no damage.     Looks better than Houck or Buehler to the eye test.

Connor Wong  has truly become hopeless as a hitter.  His only chance would be to bunt 4 times a game.  Narvaez should be considered the #1 catcher with Wong playing only about 40% of games.

I agree. He just struck out on a ball at least a foot outside.

Plate discipline is a real problem with this team.

I agree with this message.

Lead off double by the #9 hitter, Rafaela, followed by B to B K's by Duran and Divas . Another base runner when Bregman gets hit, then the umpire makes 1 bad and 1 truly awful call for strikes on Campbell, teaching the rookie that Lorenzen gets the huge benefit of experience while rookies eat dirt.

Swing the bat Kristian , the umps will not treat you fairly this year.

Dobbins is pitching a big time game .    Rafaela, aside from getting a hit, save 2 or 3 bases there at the wall.  Might have to asked the pitcher's opinion, since players run this team, before putting Cedanne on the bench

Wong and Toro combined OPS'ing .698.   Cannot carry that load much further. ( Warning SSS)

For entirely different reasons than Divas,  I think Breslow needs to go to work.

I believe this ump has been consistent for both pitchers.

Weissert at 13 pitches, 2 walks, no outs.

Ad Nauseum,  when a reliever gets to 20 pitches in an inning bad things start to happen.   Need a DP or TP right now
