Now that Meidroth is in the majors with an On Base Percentage of 4 THOUSAND (4-for-4, 1 H and 3 BBs), just remember this today when you watch the Red Sox' defense:

There's another guy still stuck in Worcester who may be a better all-around infielder than anyone starting for Boston right now.

He has sure hands, can play solid to spectacular D at 2B, SS and 3B, and has by far a stronger throwing arm than Campbell, Story and Bregman. He also outhit just about everyone in Fort Myers last month.

When is the cutoff date again before clubs can call up homegrown bluechips and retain that coveted extra year of control?

Cora chose to give Duran the day off vs the lefty and give Abreu a chance to start vs one. Romy and Casas seem like they are a regular platoon, now, despite Casas having decent career splits vs lefties. Casas has looked awful, so far, so I have no issues with this move.

Here is the line-up, for today vs the lefty:

My man Meidroth with another hit.  He has never made an out nor failed to reach base in his MLB career.

Until today's game, the leadoff inning hitters for Boston have been Duran, Devers and Bregman, followed usually by Casas.    

In the prior 15 games through last night , these guys have  started a rally that led to a first inning run 4 times in 15 games. The lineup subbed Gonzalez for Duran today but still followed by Devers and Bregman.  Same result---no score to open a game.    The average innings to start scoring is the 4th..   Opponents average scoring start is the 3rd. 

So as noted observationally, the Sox tend to play from behind.

It's really time to bring up Roman Anthony. He makes HARD contacts. Sure Rafaela can play if we have Casas and Wong (hitting like he did in 2024). 

Right now there's too many black holes to carry him.

He came over from the Yankees for Verdugo.

He had a very good year pitching in AAA. started 23 games, going at least 5+ innings 15 times.

Pitched 116 innings and struck out 111. He also started 4 times for the Red Sox in September call up, pitching 18+ innings without giving up an earned run.

I have him ahead of Kutter.

Don’t want to speculate obviously but it’s usually Not a good sign if a guy injured his arm and instantly leaves game without even trying a warm up pitch

Another pitcher  injured as Fitts has to leave.    Time for Bello to be ready and return, although  Newcomb is the one to go.   Remember that famous novel Waiting for Giolito ?

Maybe a chest muscle pull ( pectoral)  instead of arm ?    Fitts sort of clutched the upper chest near armpit.  Who knows ??

Don't have a real reason for  dissing Z. Kelly but do have the feeling he may give back the 2 runs to rob Fitts of a win chance.

The truth is Kelly is a hack, like Winckowski and was bound to give up that walk followed by HR.  He does , in fact and truth, suck.

This team is s***. Like seriously. You're suppose to beat bad teams easily. They couldn't do that last year and it doesn't look like they can this year either.

We have 7 out of 9 starting today all hitting above .700 OPS and Rafaela goes 2-3, but we can only score 2 runs.

Refsnyder  is 0-4 today with 2 strikeouts.

Well we got the 9th K in 7 innings so there's that but Bregman again, who has numerous RBI opportunities over the past 5 games pop flies out to RF , and the Refsnyder who doesn't see RH pitching too well whiffs, leaving 2 more LOBsters on the bases.
