Well, Cora said they are going to continue having conversations, and Henry refused to comment in every story I read.  Sounds a lot less resolved than in your interpretation…

You hang right on to that thought.🤫

Just quoting sources.  Want to see them?  And what are yours?  Are you still using the same sources that said the Sox re-signed Kike Hernandez solely because of his performance in the postseason?

Even though I’m far from a Devers Forevers guy I’ve have been siding with Raffy since day 1 of spring training. You’re comparing an Allstar like Raffy who’s been in the league for 9 years, and won a WS with a two year man that really hasn’t established himself yet? 🤭🙈

And you’re saying childish behavior is an earned privilege?  Or are you saying being a good hitter is a larger factor in where a player plays than actual defensive skills?

The sox starter's ERA ranks #21 in the majors.

Give them a chance.

In losing Chris Sale, we lost something that might be even more important than a players ability - leadership.  This team very much lacks leadership.

Devers got demoted?

If he wasn’t putting up MVP caliber numbers at the plate - especially after a crazy slow start - no one would be siding with him.

I mean, imagine if Rafaela pouted about being replaced  in the OF by Roman Anthony.  Who’d take C-Note’s side?  Obviously none of the people recommending the move.  Would anyone?  Maybe his mom.  Maybe…

I'm not sure what this means. Am I the only one?

It means Devers is playing the “I’m the star” card and some folks are buying it.

Ultimately Devers got moved off base to accommodate untried prospect Campbell, when consider Bregman’s willingness to play 2b and Cora’s overt desire to play him there.  Rafaela (aka C-Note per B-R.com) is in the similar position of being moved off position by a prospect.  While Rafaela isn’t the star hitter Devers is, he at least can play his position very well, which should be a bigger factor.

I don't even think it even has followship...

... just a lot of lifeboats and inflatable donuts bobbing up and down in the waves.

You guys crack me up with all your whining, and crying, bitching, and moaning, and droning on, and on, and on about Raffy. ILMAO every time you call Raffy, and his behavior names like it means something, and changes will be made. Raffy is enjoying life now as a DH, which is where you guys wanted him in the first place. If the whole situation bothers you guys that much like it apparently does then don’t watch. You won’t be missed.🤭😂🤮

Umm, we're almost 1/3 of the way through the season.

Crochette, Giolitto, Dobbins, Bello, Fitts -  what is it that they as starters have done that you don’t like?  These guys can pitch.  We’ll never know how well as long as they are restricted by ridiculous pitch count numbers.

Again, the starters have the 21st ranked ERA in baseball.

If you're happy with that, so be it.

It's why they signed Pablo Sandoval.

"He really embodies a lot of what we care about,” Cherington said. “This is a guy that has been a big winner. He’s been a performer when it counts the most."

IDK about that. There were so many complaints about Sale's lack of leadership. How many years did his team underperform while he was here? How many times did we hear about him cutting up jerseys or doing something ridiculous.

I think the team may lack a leader, but it's not due to the loss of Sale. When did the culture really change here? It was after Mookie left.

Mookie left, and then Bogey, which left Raffy all alone.

Bogey leaving had an impact, but I don't know how much of a leader he was aside from being friends with Raffy. He was part of '19, '20, '22.

I though you meant Patrick: "And the best part that I know Sox fans will love about him is that he getting paid to rehab from an operation after a career-threatening injury and will someday be back in action -- if you're all patient -- until finally ready to grind and battle through scars, aging and mid-life pressures to give us 4, maybe even 4 2/3 tepid innings!"

"And he'll be better," said President Kennedy, "than any Paxton we can trade for or trade at the deadline."

He wasn't going to pitch this year until they ended up below .500. Now they'll get their money's worth.

You asked if he was getting "demoted" to a comment that was unrelated and not even hinting at a demotion.

Anybody that sides with a player who refuses to do what his manager asks (if that is what is happening, here) does not understand how (successful) teams work.

Some of that is Newcomb (4.43 ERA as a starter) and Houck (much worse, currently on the IL)….

The demoted comment was a joke after you called him “assistant” GM, implying his role had been much larger in that capacity.

I hate explaining jokes, but that one might be on me…

The Red Sox haven’t been a successful team for 4 years in a row now!🤭🙈

Yes he did cut up those jersies when he was in Chicago.  I understand your comment though.  I just think that this team is young and with Bregman down, they need strong leadership of the player on the field variety.  That is what I think people like Sale provided.  But hey I’m the same guy who wanted to keep both Sale and Dombrowski in Boston.

Dombrowski only stays if Mookie stays, so I'm cool with it.

We're definitely still living with JH's "epiphany" about how to run a baseball team.

Cora said he has not talked to Raffy about playing 1B. That is a fact. Cora said he wasn’t going to talk with Raffy about playing 1B that is also a fact. Now I heard Cora’s comments the other day, and he did NOT say he was having discussions with Raffy about it. Now if Cora comes out, and says I want Raffy to try 1B my stance would soften, but until that happens my stance will not change about Raffy, and you guys can keep regurgitating your words up, and keep resorting to name calling. That must leave a bad taste, but  to each its own.
