Early was a bit wild, today, but he still one hit the opps over 5 IP. Zero ERs, 4BB & 7 K. He now has a 1.55 ERA.

Jh Garcia is off to a nice start with Woo. 3-4 in first game, today. He's nearing a 1.400 OPS! He's 1-2, so far in game 2. (Anthony homered in game 2.)

Uberstine pitched well in the 2-1 win in the 7 innings game 1.

Woo won a pen games as Criswell was the opener (2 IP 0 ER) Anthony, Noda & Hickey had 2 hits in the 3-1 win.

When does Jordan get called up to Worcester, he has proven to me that he is ready!

Hard to say. I don't think the org really cares for him as a prospect. I think he's trade bait. Maybe keeping him in AAA helps his trade value? I have no idea. Hickey and Noda are already on the AAA roster.

Hickey is really heating up. He does play 1B, now, and could be an emergency 3rd catcher, but at age 25, you wonder if this is for real. He homered, tonight and is up to .777, after a pretty bad start. Anthony hit his 8th homer, but I guess he has to wait for an injury or trade to ever get the call. Eaton homered, too. Grissom went 2-4 w a 2B & BB.

Jordan homered (.900)  in the POR loss, and Romero walked 4 times (.820.) Wehunt K'd 9 in 6 IP (0BB, 4 hits & 2 ER.)

GRE & SAL rained out and the FCL Sox lost 2 games 5-1 and 6-1.

The tale of the 1 IP Openers, tonight...

Penrod pitched another 1 inning scoreless in an opener role. Anthony 1-4 w BB & 2B.

GRE is up 9-6 in the 6th, as Chris Murphy opened with 1 scoreless inning, too. Anderson is 3-3 and YRod has 4 rbi on 2 hits

Song pitched a 1 IP scoreless opener, as SAL won game 1. The second game is scoreless after 4 with Ehrlicher going 2.2 scoreless.

Little solace, when the big club is stinking up the city.

The lineup in Greenville is overflowing with potential:

1.) arias - rafeala jr. but can be a superstar,

2.) yophary - still figuring it out. But oodles of potential

3.) Taylor - having a decent year. Some power but could develop into something special

4.) Anderson - had a bad year last year. But this year he has figured it out and is putting together good at bats. Star potential!!
5.) zantanello - the light has not come on yet for him.
6.) blies - super athletic but the contact rate is not there yet!!!! But if he can start hitting, star potential

To me, Zanetello is zilch, until he shows me otherwise.

Zanatello has a long way to go for sure.  Really, players like him given Manfred and the owners contempt for minor league baseball, might just be better off going to college (warts and all) in the longer term.

Zanetello should still be in Salem. I don't know why they promoted him this season.

Yeah.  The only thing I can think is that A) there is some specific coaching at Greenville they wanted to access or B) the statcast data is giving them indicators which we don't have.

Zanetello is so far down on my rankings list, I'm not sure why he gets so much attention. He's 36th on SP.com

Sure, but they had Antonio Anderson begin '25 in Salem, so I don't know why they didn't do the same with Zanetello. They are both similarly aged and both struggled massively last season.

Keith law has arias at 8 and Garcia at 46!
and of course, Anthony stays at number 1!

That's just wild. He had Arias #42 at the start of the season.

Arias has had a great year so far, but he is not in double A yet, so it is a bit early for that big a leap!!!

Now Garcia went up a few levels last year, but with a high strike out rate and low walk rate, he did generate much interest. This year, he is improving those rates.

we got more hitters coming. I think Anderson is close to figuring it out. I think Gonzales could be a superstar. I think encanacion is just starting to figure it out!!!!

Worcester - Garcia with a tater tonight! Van belle with 7 shut out innings.
Portland game 1 - Sandlin with 7 shut out innings.
Portland game 2 - Jordan 3 for 4. Coffey with 3 shutout innings!
Greenville - arias 4 for 5. Tayler with a tater today.
Salem -  Gonzales 0 for 2 with two walks.

Jh Garcia is showing just how lucky I can be with prospect rankings! LOL

SSS, but he's at 1.143 in AAA.

Sandlin went 7 IP, 3H, oER, just 1BB and 8 Ks.

Tolle looked good for GRE : 4.1, 5, 1, 2, 5

With tolle there is a story here. He had four strike outs after two innings! His fastball was playing well! Funky delivery that hitters have a hard time picking up.
Starting in the third inning, he was throwing more secondary stuff and he struggled a bit and had some trouble with the strike zone.
the plan seems to be to get tolle to sharpen up the secondary offerings. And maybe he adds a cutter somewhere down the line

SoxProspects have not been super high on Arias's ceiling and believe he won't tap into much power. If that turns around, maybe he can really be a top prospect. I don't believe they see him as a starting SS for the Red Sox or at least outcompeting Mayer for the job. I think they'd project him as a weak hitting 2B if it came down to it.

It's interesting the guys the do and do not get overly excited about at times. Maybe they are just tempering their excitement? IDK.

With the pitchers, it's more about development now than winning games. They really don't care about the overall numbers and want them to actually work on becoming better pitchers than putting up eyepopping stats. They'll have a guy throw 3 horrible sliders in a row, not because it's the right pitch to call but because the guy needs to learn how to throw it.

Especially a players 1st year in pro ball.  If the swing and miss is there, that gets me pretty excited no matter what the stat line looks like.

I am not sure Mayer is a major league shortstop, but I am sure he could be a superstar 3rd baseman!
arias is by far the best defensive shortstop in our system. (No disrespect to Liendo)

I do not know what kind of power arias projects to have, but if he can walk more, then you are looking at a near .400 OBP and great defense at shortstop,

By the time Arias is ML ready, Mayer might be the 3Bman (or 2Bman.)

Arias is so good on D, that we can handle being kinda light, and who knows: we heard Narvaez was all glove and no bat.

I like Arias, a lot.

I've also been higher than I probably should have been on Jh Garcia (and his brother.) I'm really liking what I see, so far this year.

It's great to see that our farm might still pretty decent after KC, Mayer and Anthony graduate.

The pitching side has made big strides, too- more quantity than top quality, as of now, but I expect a few to make enough improvements to move into the top quality category.
