Garcia with his 6th Worcester tater tonight. A two run tater.

The guy is a monster! I think we need to give him a 1Bman's mitt and have him ready by April '26.

By '27...

2B Campbell (Romero)

SS Arias (Mayer)

Woo has won 9 of 10.

Mullins threw 1 hit 5 innings and has an ERA of 2.45 for POR.

Holobetz went 5.1 allowing 1 ER in GRE's win. Bleis 2-4 and now at .822. GRE has won 7 of 10 and leads their division, so far.

SAL is 10 games under .500, and FCL is 3 under.

Portland with 11 stolen bases through 4 innings???

That catcher has a 14% CS rate. However, all the steals were off the starter Lagrange. He must stare the catcher down and not hold runners on.

After we went up 6 to 1, the Portland manager stopped us from running anymore

Not much to watch at Woo, these days, except Jh Garcia and some pitchers. Jordan went 2-4 w BB and JhG went 1-4 w BB. Uberstine pitched another good game (2.67 ERA.) Murphy got lit up, but Mata did okay in relief.

Wehunt pitched a gem for POR: 7IP 4H, 1 ER 13K 1BB. Castro homered and is showing signs of life. Alcantara 3-4 w BB.

GRE lost 1-0, as Ed Rivera pitched very well: 6.2 1H, 0ER 2BB & 7K. Jo Garcia went 2-4 as did Brannon.

SAL lost 9-6. Our A-, FCL and DSL teams are not doing well.

Uberstine threw some filthy pitches today!!! I know the command is still not where we need it to be, but the stuff was impressive today

I think 6th sounds about right until Mayer and Anthony graduate

I guess? MLB pipeline put him there. SoxProspects have him listed as 6-8 in their notes.

I don't know. I forget how I voted in the TS top 20, but I'd have him behind Jhostynxon and the top pitchers. I'd probably rank him with Romero. Maybe he goes right behind Romero just because Romero can play more premium defensive positions? I think I have Romero higher than moon does in my rankings and Bleis/Cespedes lower.

Romero has not looked healthy swinging the bat for weeks before he went on the injured list.

I believe he got hurt early in the year in the bad weather and has been trying to play through it

From Keith Law's updated Top 50 (2 months in - it is a couple weeks old) - Mayer was in the big club so not under consideration

1. Anthony

Quote

Anthony was hitting .321/453/.518 through Sunday’s games, making a ton of hard contact — his average exit velocity is just over 95 mph, and his 90th percentile EV is 109.4 mph. He has swung and missed more than you’d like to see, and he’s had trouble with changeups down and away, so I’m not rushing him to the majors right now, but he has performed exceptionally well overall for a 21-year-old in Triple A, and nobody has done enough to topple him from the throne.

8. Arias

Quote

Through Sunday, Arias was hitting .360/.406/.517 since his promotion to High A, and he’s still just 19 until November. He’s a true shortstop, he doesn’t punch out (8.3 percent at the higher level), and he has power. It’s electric on both sides of the ball and if there’s a flaw in his game, pitchers through the High-A level haven’t exposed it yet. He’s been groundball-heavy at 48 percent, but he’s also driving enough balls to get to some in-game power. Leave it to the Red Sox to graduate a top-10 prospect (Kristian Campbell) and immediately have someone else replace him.

46. Garcia

Quote

The Password, as he is known, has taken a pretty significant step forward this year off a breakout year in 2024. He’s swinging less often, which has also meant that he’s whiffing less and he’s chasing less, and he’s still hitting the ball hard — although the surface results haven’t been there yet. The Red Sox bumped him up to Triple A last week and in his first six games there he homered twice, at 106 and 109 mph. It’s plus power, a significantly improved approach, and, well, he should move to right field.

Montgomery is at 20, and Teel is at 24 ... so that is looking like a trade that is going to help everybody

I'm surprised that his defense has been adequate at SS.

That kid can hit and draws a ton of walks! It was sad to see him go, but crochet had been worth every penny we paid thus far

Abreu went 1-4 w Woo, today. Fitts finally pitched well (5IP 0ER 2H 0BB 3K)

POR lost 1-0, but Early pitched great. 6IP 5H 1ER 0BB 8K. The Sea Dogs got 1 hit.

Arias homered and is 2-3 by the 7th. Zanetello has 2 hits. Jh Garcia is 1-4.

I don't usually report on DSL games, but this from SP.com:

Dorian Soto had a huge performance, leading off the game with a home run and then blasting a two-run shot in the fifth inning in a 3-for-5 game.
