As mentioned at the end of yesterday's game thread,  odd time to run off a win streak with key players shelved.    But when it still mattered they were not capable of supporting good pitching.

I'll watch small parts of the final 5, but lost any serious interest in this group a couple weeks ago.

Addition by subtraction.

The Jays, not a good team to begin with, looked like they had checked out completely last night. If the Sox just play good baseball and don't beat themselves, they win the next two easily.

Why on earth would you lose interest 🙄

Tonight will not be “easy” with Francis on the mound for the Jays.  Splendid is correct a couple posts above this one.

Since 8/26 the SOX starting pitching has the lowest ERA in MLB.

The Blue Jays have the 2nd lowest.

I was aware from watching the games the SOX starters were doing well, but I didn't realize they were doing that well.

During that same period the SOX offense was ranked near the bottom. That did not surprise me.

Btw, I see Bobby Dalbec finally hung them up.

I think you misspelled “Charlie Blackmon”…

Since June 9th, Francis has a 2.23 ERA and .532 OPSA…

Looked like Abreu was calling that ball in RF.  Good thing it does not matter in the grand scheme except to highlight the 2 rookies, Abreu and He who shall not be mentioned.

Can’t figure out which is less interesting: the Bruins preseason game on NHL. Net or this game

This game.  Warning track power for Boston, wall power for BJs.  Sloppy sliders from Bello and Sims. Slaten is past his expiration date too

It doesn't look too promising the BRUINS are going to sign Swayman. He wants 10mil/yr and the BRUINS FO doesn't seem to want to go over 8mil.

Huge difference between the money in the 3 other major sports compared to the money in the NHL.

10 mil/yr in MLB gets a you a Kluber, but in the NHL 10mil is too high for, perhaps, the best goalie in the league.

Of the 4 major sports, imho, goaltenders get the least respect of any position. They're usually the most underpaid, and yet they may play the most nerve racking and important position in the sport.

He’ll get signed I bet. The Bruins are rebuilding too.  They’ll be decent but not a championship team.

Have you ever had a fit of optimism? BTW, there's 31 other NHL teams that won't win a championship.

Your betting he gets signed just makes it more likely he won't.

But note that of the best 12 teams in MLB, 11 of them lose their last game.   Sox could win their last , so there's that

If you’re talking “ most underrated position in sports”, I nominate the punter.  He controls opposing field position, yet most punters are treated like cheap Fungibles that change uniform jerseys as frequently as many of us just change shirts…
