Game Thread already looks like a major upgrade TBH. We'll have to see if the Sox can compete with the new TalkSox.

Pivetta last 5: 7.50 ERA, 7.04 FIP, 10 HR, 24 IP

Yuck!

And you get modern features like this! Just paste a Twitter URL into the post field and it renders a card.

This has to be viewed as the beginning of a playoff run or something I do not want to even think about.

I'm sure I will make good use of it! I have been called out for my Twitter copy/paste from time to time.

Elon wants you to know that it's X not Twitter.

That doesn't sound right? That doesn't sound right at all!

If the MLB content at Bluesky was more robust, I'd post skeets instead of tweets, but here we are... We will not be discussing Threads.

The darkest timeline. The vibes trended downhill when they let Dom go.

I admit to being lost and confused right now.

But you're here, so there is that.

Hard enough to find talksox.com.  Having found it, navigating the site is also a chore.

On top of that, the Sox are in a tailspin after abasing themselves before the visiting Diamondbacks.  They were/are, in a word, snakebitten.

How bad was it?  The Sox pitching gave up 23 runs in 3 games, which actually wasn't that surprising given how bad they are and how good the Diamondbacks hitting is (best in MLB by a big margin).

The surprise was the Sox hitting, just 8 runs in 3 games against a pitching staff ranked 25th in MLB.

It was just bad luck, according to NESN, because the D-Backs were the greatest team in the history of this weekend.

They're so good right now, when they finally get they're 3-4-5 batters back in the line-up, they'll be the F-Backs.

"their" (typed a typo, just to see if I could edit... pushed all the buttons, but they're mostly features there)

Thanks for the reminder about the Sox announcers.  I don't listen to them, but did read about what they said.  And I thank you and others for telling me what jerks they were/are.  My guess is it was there asinine way of defending the Sox.  I root for the Sox relentlessly, but I try not to excuse them when they don't measure up.

I think Lou does a good job for the most part. I never liked him doing his radio gig, but he's enjoyable on the broadcast. Will Flemming on the radio is the bees knees as the kids say these days. I'd swap Will and Dave O'Brien in a heartbeat.

There will be 2 good announcers for tonight’s game from the SeaDogs. Lou doesn’t stop talking IMO.

The Portland announcers are fine enough. I've watched a few SeaDogs games this year. I'm pretty sure I know how a lot of people will feel about them though. I'd rather listen to Emma and Rylee than Youk.

There are games this season when our lefty batters act as though they've read the "book" that says they can't hit lefty pitchers and act as though they believe it.

Newer ain't better and this ain't better. I'm not signing up to Xcretion.

One question: If this is the suspended game, why isn't Jansen playing for Toronto.?

I am happy with Rafaela’s overall progress this season, but he really needs to improve on his chase rate, as he swings at a lot out of the zone.
