It was a four game series, so it would not be a sweep.

Sunday Sox have been really good this year. Kutter pitched decent last time out. 3-1 would be a nice surprise here.

I have tickets to this game but the weather looks very very questionable. Maryland is going to get hit hard by a major storm today. I’m debating if I want to actually go to Baltimore in this weather and risk this game not happening

Beating Cy Young with a cow patty bullpen Friday was the Great Escape. But Bello beating a lefty Saturday was progress.

Bello's stuff that Bugs Bunnied the O's -- if he can regularly replicate it over the next two months -- is top-of-the-rotation worthy of a contender.

Today's finale pits the pitcher who leads the majors in home runs allowed vs. the team that leads the majors in home runs hit. What could go right?

Answer: the weather forecast... or, at least, Boston gets to bat nine times, too.

Good thing I got out of town this morning!

One key to Bello's success is that he has a pretty darn good changeup, which few, if any, of the Sox pitchers have. In their defense, I consider the changeup to be downright weird and probably very hard to master. But guess who else has an excellent changeup? The guy the Sox dumped off to the Atlanta Braves.

I agree with Jasonbay44--the forecast for this afternoon and evening looks very rainy. A day off today would probably help the Sox in the short term, but they are already 2 games fewer than most teams.

We don't need another double header with our lack of pitching depth.

We already have a 5 games in 4 days series with TOR coming up, soon.

We need a win, today and get this team into a winning mode.

I wonder where the SOX rank in runs scored in the 1st inning?

Googled it. Believe it or not, they are 9th in MLB in 1st inning runs at 0.52 per game.

But it’s a really tight distribution; the Braves are 8th at 0.54 and the Cubs, Rockies and Astros are tied for 17th at 0.50. At this point of the season, 8th to 17th are separated by roughly 5 runs total.

Yeah, but you googled all games. In selective ones, they never score in first inning

Chris Sale is no longer on the Red Sox. You don't have to mention his season in every goddamn post. Jesus Christ.

I know many here think very highly of Cedanne Rafaela , and he has huge talents and potential to become a very good player. He is also contract controlled for multiple years , through 2031 plus an option year.

He is, however, the worst chaser of bad pitches I have seen, but not in a good way like Devers and Vlad Guerrero, Sr were. Maybe he will become that but until he can improve his pitch selection , he'll be more potential than serious production. He is also a rookie who can play two key positions , so there is that.

Oh and Rafaela's arm (accuracy, not power) at SS is very suspect. As Moon says , Cedanne should not even be at that position.

While Rafaela did help stop the bleeding at SS for a while, I think we need to stop playing him there.

I know that will squeeze out a big bat in the OF, but we need better SS defense, ASAP.
