Kutter Crawford vs. Zack Wheeler

How's Dombrowski's team doing the last few years? Haven't really been keeping up.

Fair to middlin'. but their farm system is depleted.

The 45-20 record this early in the season is a mirage. Couldn't even beat the Diamondbacks last year in NL championship. DD is on a very short leash

With 8 players making $20mill AAV or more, that leash might be short, but a least it’s bedazzled with diamonds…

The last time the Phillies won the series was 2008.

I think Red Sox fans would gladly take the Phillies results under DD the last two years a WS appearance, and going 7 games in the NLCS, and you can add their current record this year also.

Maybe, but I’d take the overall history of the Red Sox over that of the Phillies, who might be the least successful franchise in MLB history.

I’ll take Boston’s 2022 and 2023 if I also get 2004 thru 2018…

The discussion was about DD Phillies, which only has to do with 2021 to the present. Still take Boston’s 2022, 2023, and 2024?

No, you tried to make that the discussion. The quote you responded to clearly mentioned 2008.

And I will take my Red Sox in the entirety over some piece of s*** franchise that took nearly a century to win their first title. I’m not the kind of fan who starts crying i over a couple bad seasons…

The original question was how is DD team doing the last few years. 2008 isn’t even relevant to DD. Another N for you.

NOshida, or GOshida? Which one will show up.

Got to put him out there to show his stuff with a couple doubles off the Wall. I swear if he rolls over 3 bouncers to first/second basemen, he will get some yapping from the fans. Have to play him back into MLB shape and confirm he is untradeable.

I didn’t bring up 2008 originally. Keep up with the conversation…

474 winning % (Marlins at 460, Padres at 465, Rockies at 464)

11,279 losses (#1)

2 WS (Rockies, Padres have 0)

They have a good claim at worst franchise of all time, but the 2 World Series titles kind of turns it around. Over the past 50 years, they've been a fairly good franchise. Their distant past is what drags them down. That's history pal!

Marlins are pathetic, but have a few rings. Rockies and Padres have similar W/L and neither have won a World Series. Rockies have Rocktober. Padres beat the Cubbies for an episode of Punky Brewster. I believe the worst franchise of all time is the Padres. Their 5th highest career bWAR guy is Andy Ashby at 22.6 bWAR (he wouldn't be top 5 for the Rockies who have a 25 year disadvantage).

The Red Sox have a great history. No doubt. But that makes it more aggravating that they have allowed this to happen. Meanwhile, Phillies fans are having a blast. They are not concerned about what happened years ago.

Why do the records matter if they happened before you were born?

I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE IMPOSSBLE DREAM SEASON!

It will be interesting to see how much of tonight's crowd are Phillies fans. I expect there will be a lot of them in attendance.

That's a solid bet.

Of concern in this game is how Kutter Crawford will do versus a strong Phillies team. His recent outings have not been great ( 15 ER's in 16.1 innings) . Kutter was an early surprise and strength for the Sox but has lost his mojo recently. He needs to avoid the blow-up inning when he appears to lose command/control and composure

Let's hope for a great and effective effort over 6 innings.

Hoping is what we do here.

Until bad s*** starts happening, of course.

Just trying to get a Moon-shot of positivity in before the players show us their relative abilities and inabilities, causing us to coach them as how to do better.
