Comparing Story to Sale is unfair to Sale. I think Sale actually wanted to play.

Story clearly wanted to play. You’re thinking of Rendon…

Why do you think Story Land doesn’t??

Sure he does. He was putting in extra effort in the offseason in more ways than one. Just s***** luck.

Exactly, and Story put on an offseason camp for the infielders, and himself.

Last three years with the Sox games played %:

Sale: 28%, 6%, 63%

Story: 58%, 26%, 5%

Sale clearly wanted to play more than Story who just wants to sit at home and collect a check. If you include the amount of time rehabbing in WOO, the numbers look even better for Sale.

And the IFers started off the season horrendously. They only got better the further away they got from Story's misery.

Story didn’t have much to work with, but Cora, and his coaches didn’t do much either the past few years.

Oh yea this explains it all. MV PEE speak at its best, or worst depending on how you want to look at it. Stand proud, and take a bow.

Neither did Story. At least we saw the coaches on the field.

Your way of looking at it is ONE way of looking at it, but I haven’t heard anyone else with that theory, so looks like a disagreement to me, which is fine too.

If Sale clearly wanted to play more he wouldn’t have ridden his bike, and tussled with that TV.

Things could change. Sale could get hurt. Grissom could start to show some pop. But the early returns on the trade sure look like the Atlanta G.M., Alex Anthopolous, hustled the new kid on the block, Breslow. Hornswoggled him, if you will. Sometimes you just need to live and learn.

So altogether, Sale was 97%? No wonder Atlanta gave up a future All-Star for him!

The Braves had been after Sale for awhile, but I guess Bloom was just to tough to deal with.

The Dodgers found Bloom very pleasant to deal with.

All they had to do was outbid a Padres’ offer that turned out to be even weaker…

He didn't get injured in the tv altercation. It caused him to miss zero time. In fact, he was promoted to BOS directly after that start and pitched his next turn in the rotation.

That is what I've heard, that other GM's just didn't want to take his calls anymore.

Depends on how much you like Josh Naylor/Campusano and if you think the Sox could have picked out any other Padres prospects.

That’s the most amazing part after all the injuries he’s suffered is that he didn’t get injured playing TV man.

It's because he was righteous in his anger that day. The tv had what was coming to it.

This is the same guy that was playing with scissors, but did not get hurt.

What changed?

He was right about the jerseys too.

Naylor worked out, but most of the other names have not. Lucchesi, Quantrill, Myers, Patino. There was also another outfielder the Sox could have taken in place of Naylor.

I don’t think Campusano was in the final offer…

Agreed. I remember thinking he did the right thing, despite some flack he got from the media.
