The streak is riding on Josh Winckowski's right arm. Josh is starting out of necessity and has been effective in 2 starts , in 3 inning doses. Sox starting to get some key hits at home Wong's OPS is 1.007 , along with Refsnyder and O'Neil also above 1.000.

SF offers LH, 22 year old , Kyle Harrison who has 6 starts this year, 7 last year with a 4.09 ERA . Harrison has averaged 5+ innings so far. The Giant BP used 4 relievers plus a starter in Game #2, so i am saying edge to BoSox.

Looking for the sweep and a second 5 game streak . Yankees have reached 20 wins , one more than the O's but watch out, Red Sox are at 18 and rolling.

On paper, this looks like a poor line-up and SP, but this team keeps pulling out wins in games like this. We did for a while, last year, with opener after opener and pen games, until the house of cards collapsed.

I’m not predicting a collapse, this year, but we need some of our injured SPers back sooner rather than later.

To make room for utility fielder Short the SOX optioned Valdez to WOO. Short can play every position except catcher and pitcher, but can't hit a lick. Short was acquired from the Mets for cash considerations. He was DFA'd by the Mets to make room for J.D. Martinez.

I thought the SOX would option Hamilton, but it appears they kept Hamilton because he can also play SS and he's faster on the bases (PR).

Good luck to Valdez; he had a big hit yesterday and had made some very good defensive plays at 2nd of late.

Dalbec and Hamilton whistling into the locker room like no big deal.

The tail on that lineup is most of the line-up. Probably means a reverse-lock 12-3 victory.

Short should really be playing short, just for aesthetic purposes.

The most impressive thing about the win yesterday is that they did it with the regular home jerseys. I wonder what their regular jerseys vs. City Connect jerseys record is at home this year.

I'm just "watching" on Gameday (animated boxscore, pretty much), but it looks like Ref and Cooper went down to not-so-fast fastballs down the chute. That's disappointing.

EDIT: Never mind, those fastballs had some gas.

Actually, Short made 6 appearances on the mound for Detroit last year, totaling 6 innings. So I guess he takes Reyes' place as the blowout game pitcher.

Bases loaded and nothing. When was the last granny?

Pretty sure it was Urias last August against the Yankees. IIRC, he hit one the previous game as well.

We only have two 3 run homers, this year. Valdez and McGuire.

Good job today by Wink.

32 starts or opener games, this season and just 2 bad starts.

That is the story of the season, to date, IMO.
