Maybe he will also learn a new pitch after he goes to the Dodgers and he will dominate.

Brasier will suck, again. Mark my words.

Hagenman went 3 scoreless with no hits or walks.

Romy has a 1.286 OPS in a SSS. (Kavadas 1.250)

Romy is a perfectly dandy AAAA player.

It seems our AAA roster has lots of those type, plus we have Dalbec on the 26, who might be going to AAA when Grissom or Ref return from the IL. (Maybe EValdez?).

The Romdawg is now batting clean-up for the WooSox Opening Day.

Just watched the entire Woo team introduced on the foul line -- not many significant prospects, except maybe Fitts, like in years past. But nearly every guy is a depth piece for the big club, and names that fans are familiar with from just this past month in Florida. That has to be by design.

I wonder if the Sea Dogs would beat Woo in a 7 game series.

No, the AAAA guys (Contreras, Romy and the bullpen pieces) would outpace the AA guys. If you had AAA pitchers team with the AA hitters and the AA pitchers team with the AAA hitters, I'd take the AA hitters 100%.

We know the Sox best prospects are stockpiled in Double A to start the season. But the Orioles' future lurks in Triple A.

International League stats: Romy Gonzalez leads Worcester with 5 hits... down in Norfolk, Baltimore has five guys with 10 hits or more.

Holiday, Kjerstad, Mayo and Stowers combined for 18 hits just last night. Stowers had 3 HR's and Kjerstad collected 10 RsBI (granslam off SS Mendick). That's a hot week for most.

"Why would the Red Sox give Fitts, who wasn’t even in major league spring training, the chance to join the major league team and pitch against the defending World Series champions? The answer has a little to do with logistics and a lot to do with how much Fitts impressed Red Sox brass in his first spring with the club. According to farm director Brian Abraham, the spot start represented a not-so-subtle reward for how Fitts had carried himself in camp — while lining up with his pitching schedule.

“I think it was a good chance for the organization to let someone who has led by example — despite being new — show what can be done and how players can continue to improve even at the upper levels if they push themselves and they’re willing to be open minded about doing new things,” Abraham said.

“As a new guy in the organization, he has really exemplified what we’re trying to do with our pitchers pushing themselves on the mound, in the weight room, and with someone like him who has been in (velocity) training, he has really been willing to let his guard down and do some things that maybe he hadn’t done in the past and challenge himself and get some more out of himself physically than maybe he even knew he had.”"

Looks about right.

I've been high on Cespedes for a while. (It's a smooth buzz... lol.)

I've liked K Campbell's upside, but am a bit surprised he jumped that much.

None of the droppers surprise me.

It's been almost 5 years, since DD left the Sox. It's understandable some of his prospects would still not have graduated. Here are their current soxprospects.com's rankings:

4. Rafaela (will almost surely graduate, this season)

8. Wikelman (may move up to AAA, this year)

10. Perales (may move up to AA)

15. Castro (may be his make or break season in A+)

19. Paulino (in AA, now)

29. Bastardo (in AA)

12 total for 2024 to 2025. Of course, several will not make it, or will stay for just a short time on the 26 in the next 2 seasons, but it looks like at least 6-7 should.

Really impressive group of left handed hitting position players projected to be coming up next year.

I could see these 7 on the '25 team:

Rafaela

Abreu

Fitts

Slaten

Teel

Anthony

Mayer

Add those 7 to all the pre-arb and 1st or 2nd year arb guys in 2025, and a nice foundation can be viewed as good enough to splurge on filling a couple rotation slots and a top closer.

By the end of 2025:

C: Teel, Wong or McGuire

1B: Casas (Jordan AAA)

2B: Story, Grissom (Yorke)

SS: Mayer, Story

3B: Devers

LF: Duran, Abreu

CF: Rafaela

RF: Anthony

DH: Yoshida (Valdez, Hickey AAA)

SP: _____, Bello, Crawford, Whitlock, Houck (Criswell, Wikelman, Gambrell, Murphy)

RP: _____, Hendriks, Slaten, Wink, Campbell, Bernardino, Weissert, Fulmer, Guerrero

They basically swapped Fernandez for Slaten in Rule 5. We'll see how well Fernandez does for STL. So far, he only has one appearance (1 IP, 3 K, 1 H, 1 BB).

Slaten looks pretty good, but there is a long way to go.

For sure on both fronts. Fernandez has always been a high injury risk. Slaten hasn't generated many whiffs. Batters will eventually adjust to them.
