When does blies get promoted to Greenville??

He's only played 64 games in Salem. He still only has a 733 OPS, but he's reduced the k's and increased the bb's. Just not showing much in game power right now and the BABIP is a little lower than you'd expect from all the linedrives he hits.

They bumped Roman up last year because he was rocking a 19% bb rate and being too patient. That's not quite parallel to what Bleis is doing. Probably a midseason callup late June early July.

Sox have promoted guys without the sexiest stat lines because of how the underlying metrics looked E.G. Roman Anthony.

Still, given his time missed, I don't think they will press to rush him in his first full season. I think he will get promoted this year, but I would guess he'd be a later summer promotion rather than an early one.

Maybe he will become one of those guys that comes out of nowhere.

The kind of guy we hoped Bloom would find several of.

Zach Penrod continues to SHOVE in Portland.

6 Starts - 30 IP

2.10 ERA/2.95 FIP

13.2 K/9 (44 K)

3.6 BB/9 (12 BB)

0.9 HR/9 (3 HR)

.171 BAA

1.00 WHIP

10 Ks in back to back starts. Even if he isn’t a starter, his stuff from the left side will play in relief.

I had mentioned a comp to Andrew Miller previously. I don't think he has the ceiling of Andrew Miller at his height, but the profile is similar. Should get called up to WOO IMO.

Anyone know why Teel has only played one game since May 16th?

It was not reported. He sat only Fri-Sat.

Cespedes hit a GS to put the Sox on top of the FCL Orioles today. Gerardo Rodriguez also got a tater.

After seeing video of Cespedes I’ve concluded he’s moving off of short, maybe not this year or even next but probably before he reaches the bigs.

But he looks like he’s going to be a monster at the plate.

I have very high hopes for Cespedes.

At 5-foot 8-inches tall? No chance...

... that's Mookie height.

He’s 18 and already has exit velocities of 110 mph. That’s almost unheard of

Posted
Pure conjecture but I wonder how accurate that height is. Those measurements aren’t measured often. He easily could have been 5’8 a year ago. I’d be interested to see if he clocks in at 5’10” 5’11” now. He certainly does not look 5’8”

Woo ended up winning 20-4. KA-POW!

14 Hits and 12 BBs!

POR split. Mayer homered in the gm 2 win.

GRE raked 15-2 and Salem & FCL won, too.

The farm went 5-1.

From SP: Field: Will start at shortstop but may need to move to second or third base eventually.

He's now built like a running back too.

With Winckowski, it may be more about following direction. He was the one squeaky wheel who wasn't really taking Bailey's lead apparently.

In MiLB, they have to be accurate going forward due to the automatic k zone. No more fudging of the numbers.

I hadn't read that. Hopefully, he joins the program.

I liked seeing he had no BBs, last night.

Chris Cotillo reported it on either his podcast or on MassLive. It was one of the reasons he was sent down.
