I don't need him to run the Sox, I need him to hear what Crag needs and either let Crag go for it or jam it up Henry's flagpole until he says yes.

I agree 100%, and I can’t see Theo being one of JH yes men like Sam, and the rest.

I don’t think at this point unless something major happens between now, and Mar 28 that zRed Sox fans now know what direction the team is taking. It wasn’t all that long ago that fans were all excited about a new HOBO, and a promised full throttle approach. Promises aren’t always made to be kept.

Sox are treading water until the prospects show up. That was obvious when that's all that was showcased at Winter Weekend. We're in a holding pattern with this franchise.

I'll be watching the POR team more than the BOS team in the early part of the season if that's truly what matters long term.

I think right now there will be more excitement following what Teel, Anthony, and Mayer are doing in Portland than what’s going on in Boston. Get your tickets early you don’t know how long they will be there.

and hoping that nobody gets hurt. one SP goes on the DL for an extended time and this team might struggle to win 70 games. it is a gigantic clusterf*** built by a greedy, egotistical owner and an incompetent front office.

You're probably fun at parties.

That’s actually a very stupid was to run this team that could amount to pissing away hundreds of millions of dollars if those prospects don’t work out. And isn’t even guaranteed to work if they do…

Yeah, it's crazy stupid. We have some good players right now, don't we? Devers, Story, Casas, Yoshida, Grissom, Duran, the bullpen...we're not a goddamn expansion team.

One of them will be promoted to AAA before the ASB.

If the defense is better, they could have 8 or 9 more wins!

We also seem to have some decent role players: O'Neill, Abreu, Rafaela, Reyes, Wong/McGuire and platoon Ref.

It's all on the rotation.

But what if Lester got cancer again? You ever think about that?

Poor moon. All he was trying to do was be thorough about the risks of signing a guy to a long term contract. I guess you might say he was too thorough in this case.

Wait. Did you compliment Yoshida? Call him “good”?

I mean, you spearheaded the early labeling of him as a bust. Are you … reconsidering and giving him a chance? Or did his name just get caught up in a typing frenzy?

Werner needs to be more directly involved in baseball operations, it's clear.

I never said he wasn't good, I just thought it was a bad signing once I realized he's an expensive DH.

The Matsui comp has made me feel a bit better about him too.

I think he can be the OBP guy they need atop the lineup. And he’s a pretty good base runner for a tortoise…

O'Neillll - needs to stay healthy and hit like '21 or whatever was his one good season

Abreu - needs to hit similar to how he did in his SSS year, not a given

Rafaela - hasn't hit above AAA, may never

Reyes - bench guy that was DFA'd, who cares

McGuire - horrible, I'm 100% out on him

Refsnyder - only good against LHP, weak side DH due to bad glove?

There is a little bit to like and a little bit to be concerned about.

I just have to beat it into the ground for a little bit longer and then find something new.

Also, maybe you never used the words “wasn’t good”, but his fWAR hovering around 1.0 didn’t escape your attention…

Well in that case!

Hey, you can argue with me. But you can’t argue with Pedro.

Actually, you probably could. His Twitter/X handle is @45PedroMartinez.

Go get ‘im!

Even with his little legs, he's faster than your boy Tony Kemp!

It definitely didn't.

If Bloom had signed a freaking starting pitcher who could pitch I wouldn't have been as down on him for this signing. It was the allocation of resources that I hated.

I could never. I named my first dog after him!

RIP to a real one!

Can short guys even barrel the ball anymore? We need another short king like Pedey.

I guess Altuve is the same height. Kemp has always been slow though. Altuve was faster when he was younger.

Thanks for the updates.

Did I miss anyone significant?

(I know I list some that aren't.)
