The 6th inning for a Sox starter is like a marathon across the Empty Quarter in Saudi. Just not going to end well.

Tell me you wouldn’t have signed up for 2 runs and 6 innings from Crawford before this game started.

4 very good starts in a row for SOX pitchers. Unfortunately, the SOX offense has either quit or just ran out of gas.

Overall Kutter's start against a possible playoff team has been excellent. The hitting for the past week is what is inexplicable, except for Dever's incredible turnaround as the menace to opposing pitchers.

This ch ump has a huge strike zone

Actually, I'd say this is one of CB's better games behind the plate. Normally, he suffers from both near and far sightedness.

This game is honored by having CB calling balls and strikes tonight. He and Angel are the prides and joys of the chUMPIRES' Union.

CB does okay on the bases; he’s a disaster on the plate.

Angel sucks at all aspects of umpiring; he’s in a class by himself.

You'd think he'd be hugging it.

Nice quip -- glad to see you joining the rest of us, consigned to the helpless humor of our situation with this club right now.

I've never been on board with the Story signing, and don't expect he'll become an offensive star ever again. But looking at his best years -- 2018-2020 -- may give us hope. While always a K machine, Story's .909 OPS had to be boosted by Colorado's thin air... but did such conditions really help his .292 batting average? Grounders or line drives wouldn't be affected much, though maybe Trevor's fly balls eluded outfielders more often in Denver? (researchers: consult your spray charts)

Story's career road BA is .235.

At this point, I'd be happy with his road numbers (.725) while with COL. (About 30 points lower than Bogey's road numbers while with BOS.)

Nice win from the guys. On the road , again, never at Fenway.

Agree. I only watched bits and pieces but did see Refsnyder's single. Pitching was again excellent and the hitting was again in the doldrums.

I keep reading about how overweight Devers is, but at the same time notice he leads the team in games played, WAR, OPS, dingers, total bases, rbi's, runs scored, etc.

I'm not seeing anymore chubbiness than before.
