maybe Trevor Story will have a good 2024, or maybe not. Would not hesitate to move him for any talent on the mound

I can visualize most GM's biting the bit to have the opportunity to trade for Story and his long expensive contract.

Rubber Arm Llovera getting ready to pick up sloppy Paxton .

He is getting pounded and Cora takes action. His arm is about as dead as it can be. Thanks for the 1.1 innings Maple

thanks for signing him Bloom

would not hesitate to move him for a bag of good used practice balls

At least we will likely finish ahead of the Yankees. So there’s that…..

There's the possibility that won't happen and if the Yankees pass us I will be hearing the s*** all over again, we have a horseshit team, horseshit management and care less ownership, but I blame a lot on the fans who keep going and paying ridiculous prices for this crap the owner still makes money that's why they don't care, the Hal Steinbrenner management system

One more time. While I acknowledge that Bloom could/should have gone after pitching, I nevertheless do not understand why the rotation seems to be collapsing.

Bello leads the team in IP with 131, which ranks him 61st in MLB in IP. Next is Pivetta (no longer a starter) with 109, then Crawford 103, Paxton 96, Sale 78, and Houck 76.

No way, no how can any of these guys be tired. And don't forget I'm the guy who keeps yelling about 48 games with just 3 days off (which started Aug 4 is still going on). But Cora has done everything possible not to overwork the rotation--and to a degree he's done the same for the bullpen.

So this time I'm asking a serious question. Is the rotation tanking?

I don't know about that but I do that the Royal's 2 starters for games 1 and 2 have a combined record of 3-22. Shouldn't get much easier than that

Bello and Crawford are still in the "building up innings" phases of their careers.

Sale and Paxton have been ravaged by injuries the last few years.

Bloom should have seen this coming but didn't, or he did and he crossed his fingers.

That's it in a nutshell.

Plus Houck and Whitlock had injury issues and never pitched 150+ innings, either.

Paxton was the only guy I felt could start 32 games and have 180 IP, but he was the 5th starter.

Kluber was similar to Sale and Paxton.

8-9 SP'ers with only one who rated to go 30/180.

Yup.

He was stupid at the deadline. That’s not in doubt. Even if everyone coming back from injury came back at 100%, did he thinks the injuries are over? And that for the remaining ONE THIRD of a season, that no pitcher would get hurt?

I said multiple times betting on people coming back from injuries would bite this team in the ass.

But... Sam told us our best deadline acquisitions would be the lackquisitions.

And we all disbelieved him.

Bloom struck out twice with the rotation this year.

He got Kluber before the season and Nobody at the deadline. Nobody actually had a better WAR than Kluber...

Yes, nobody is a 0.0 WAR but 18 pitchers were worse than Kluber's -0.4 fWAR, including...

-0.7 Kopech

-0.5 Syndergaard

-0.4 Bumgarner, Severino, Manoah, Fleming & Rodon

Just like at the year end press conference last year when Sam said all of of baseball ops failed. It was true, but I don’t believe Sam thought it, or meant it, but only said it to appease the fans.

Just curious how you choose what to believe. You sometimes use quotes by Sox employees to support your positions.

I'm not trying to bust your balls, here. Just wondering how you choose.

Good question. I choose by what I think is true, or not. I believed Sam two years ago when he said they would do business as usual, which I took it as no big signings, and then they went out, and signed Story. Sam is JH’s WallMart greeter, and is a spinner, and grinner.

Not that you are doing anything differently than anyone else, but it sounds like confirmation bias. If anyone says something like we believe in, we tend to believe it (and then quote it.)
