A good trivia question would be to name every Hall of Famer who played for the Red Sox at any time in their career.

List all that played for the Sox for just one year would be challenging, too.

I can see that play like it happened yesterday. Tartabull of all people. Sox picked up a lot of guys at the ends of careers who actually helped them out. Remember Dick Groat?

I remember Dick Groat, but don’t remember him playing for the Red Sox. Jerry Adair I remember contributing to the 67 team.

Also...

Wong, Vaz & Dalbec at 2B

Vaz at 3B

I’m calling foul on these.

Vazquez played 2b in 2019, before Bloom.

Wong played 25 games at 2b as a minor leaguer with the Dodgers…

Report is out there that both the Red Sox, and Turner have a mutual interest in Turner coming back to Boston.

Interest kings!

Turners #1 fan may be Cora.

Ng is certainly on the list. She was with him for years in LA, tried to get him to come to Miami last off-season (but budget limitations forced her to settle Jean Segura) and then reportedly offered Edward Cabrera for him at the deadline…

Wong played 2 games at 2B in 2022 (5 innings) and 5 games way back in '23 with the Sox (5 innings.)

Vaz played 2B:

0.2 inning in '20

5.0 innings in '21

1.0 inning in '22

That's a flagrant foul on you!

No, not another misunderstanding on Talksox!

And does anyone wonder if the full truth be known that Cora probably hated Bloom who may have rationalized all of the above mismatches by trying to gain flexibility in the roster. Generally not the way high level MLB gets played.

Oh, and the rest thing. Marcus Semien played in every one of the Rangers 172 games this year.

Semien had only a .636 OPS in 17 postseason games, .491 in the first 15 of them, so rest proponents might argue he was tired.

I do think it’s kind of weird that we have people insisting they know more about how these players feel day to day than Cora does…

Filling in as an emergency replacement in game doesn’t count IMO.

It’s just a kids game. Atlanta played their guys everyday and it didn’t affect them. No major injuries. Fine in the playoffs.

Honestly how many of these guys out of position are on Bloom, the guy who didn’t fill out the lineup card?

First base in 2022 was a huge mess that it took far too long to sort out, and even then didn’t work. Shortstop last year. Those were rather large Bloom mistakes.

If Dalbec playing one game at shortstop makes you think the whole roster is a mess (shout out to John Tomase), maybe watch another team once in a while. Or rummage through old Sox box scores. It’s not the red flag some people (shout out to Tomase again) think it is…

2022 1b was on Bloom. The MIF mess over the years is on Bloom. Needing Arroyo to start the year in RF is on Bloom. It’s simple roster construction.

They had Dalbec playing SS in AAA. It was planned. Not an accident.

They had Dalbec playing 2b and OF in AAA, too. They did this because they knew he would never be an everyday player and wanted to see if he could fill a utility role. It wasn’ta bad idea and certainly not worth the uproar a lot of people (shout out to Tomase again) seemed to think it deserved…

The Arroyo in RF might not be so Bloomy. First of all, that was a lineup call, not like Arroyo was the obvious starter. The Sox did have other outfielders. And that could have just as easily been Cora trying to get Arroyo’s bat into the lineup somewhat regularly.

The MIF mess over what years plural? You didn’t like Story/Bogaerts in 2022? It was a mess in 2023, and Bloom let it linger too long without trying other internal options (like Hamilton) after it became evident Kike was costing this team games…

I think the rest thing is more of a scheduled season-long thing than a day-to-day thing. Some of it would be day-to-day.

MIF depth has been an issue since 2020. He signed an injured Story. I don’t need to feel bad for Bloom because of it. Lie down with dogs and you wake up with fleas.
